Ranking Every Weapon in the Original Ratchet and Clank Trilogy!

In this video, I put every weapon in the first 3 Ratchet and Clank games for the Playstation 2 into a tier list. If you agree with my tier list, then great. You win the Xem seal of approval and you're a Ratchet and Clank cool kid. If you disagree, then you're a Bouncer Benjamin and you probably shop at Megacorp.

The Meteor Gun is controversial because it becomes a more mundane weapon from something that was quite interesting, but as a replacement for the Heavy Lancer, it's exceptional.

yeah, with lock on and acid it's actually really powerful, especially since its ammo costs the same as the heavy lancer

Lock on + acid = most cost effective way to kill the YETI enemies. 3-4 shots are enough.

@@jaotrx7163 It's not the damage that's mundane, it's more the delivery. The Lava gun was like a more interesting flamethrower, throwing a stream of damaging liquid like a rope. But the Meteor Gun just shoots heavy shorter-ranged shots.

N60 is fun but it does dicks for damage. Bouncer shoulda been a bit higher but I get why he put it there. There are just some cheaper weapons that do similar if not better damage like the Shock Cannon and Bomb Glove.

I think the Pyrocitor is really good casually as well. It's just an insane crowd clearer and absolutely trumps close range enemies

Found your channel randomly, so far I was blown away by how crazy the R&C speedruns have been!! I'll admit at first when I was watching this video I was a little skeptical about certain placements but with the explanations given and category comparisons it definitely started to make more sense. Kinda made me a little bit sad seeing the Blitz Cannon so low but I do understand why now. I definitely agree that the RY3NO would've been sooooo much better without the RYNOCIRATOR existing. Even casually it kinda bummed me out.

I know people really wanted to keep bumping up the Heavy Bouncer higher, even personally I love it, but with all categories considered I think its placement made sense! I think it kind of downgraded in UYA anyway.

Can't believe noone mentioned the mine glove + taunter combo. The taunter causes the mines' aggro range to increase MASSIVELY, turning them from a passive defensive weapon into an active one. Also those mines deal a shitton of damage. All it asks for is a bit of set-up, and after triggering them you can run to safety, so you gotta factor that aswell.

I can guarantee this will be one of your most vieweved videos. Rankings really get the attention from the general public and KZbin algorithm. I can also say right off the bat, I think you should've have ranked weapon based on their style too. I mean, sure the Liquid Nitrogen gun isn't the most effective, but who cares? Those are the type of weapons that make R&C what it was for me, these whack unthinkable designs that would require great fantasy and maybe a decent dose of hallucinogens to come up with. Sure, a generic flamethrower/grenade launcher/bazooka will work better most of the times, but do they have the same fun factor?

I want to make 2 points of arguments. Ryno 1, remember the first time you were able to buy it when you were a child. That feeling of power. The hover bots, think of the first time you finally had the little rebots out, the force fields around you, holding a golden devastater with the jet pack, and helmet, and all gadgets. The feeling of being a badass with everything out.

You know that you can cancel the BOUNCER shot with the wrench pressing square and you only have to spam circle (shoot) square circle square etc, and the shooting cadence gets increased, and same with Gravity bomb, that are slow AF hahaha Nice video xem 👌

You mentioned that the Shock Cannon is useful in every situation. I think that applies to everything in SS except for the Tetrabomb Gun, which is only useful for bosses primarily from the sound of it.

Dude I was way too much interested in this video than I should have, this was super fun and sick. I really hope you will add deadlocked to the tier list too because it's my favorite of the quadrilogy. If you would like to I can already say my arguments why I believe the stalker mine launcher, the scorpion flail and the omnishield launcher are the top 3 weapons of the game. If you plan to do this for deadlocked too then when will you do it on twitch? I really want to be there this time. Btw I think you should make more criteria for the weapons in general like range, ground cover, how long it leaves you open, etc...

1:07:01 I think that looping the Giant Clank mission in Quartu is much faster than using the taunter. You have to farm manually but its worth it if you don't want to burn your console and also due to that in PS4/5 the old Rac games are only playable via cloud you can't tape your controler cause the game will close it self due to inactivity. So the taunter has lost its use in casual play

I think you should do this a little differently: Imagine you can play the game with just ONE weapon. Which order would you choose for them? The blaster is probably the best option other than the RYNO in R&C1.

100% agree about the Bouncer. It's a great BACK-UP plan, but it should never be a first choice. With a poison upgrade in RAC2 it can be quite entertaining! Especially against the Proto-Pet.

There's a reason the upgraded Hoverbomb is more expensive than the Ryno II ;) Also the Disc gun from RaC 3 is so underrated imo. Sure, not used in speedruns, but I think it's one of the best guns casually. Same thing about the mine glove in RaC 1. From my filthy casual perspective that thing is basically a bomb glove with the added perk of homing in on enemies.

B6 doesn't have alot of ammo but it's solid. Far from trash. Did you try it out with mods?

You can just use the hunter mine launcher (even the flail tbh) to do the same job as the B6, and the hunter mine is more versatile as you can use it for setup, it literally does more damage too. The B6 deals 60 damage at level 1 and the hunter mine does 120. The B11 does 750 damage at level 10, and the stalker mine does 500 at level 10... except the stalker blows up three times. Not to mention the flail does 1550 damage at level 10 with more ammo and attack speed and a comparable area. The B6 is outclassed, and compared to the flail and mine launcher, its bad.
