@Sora_Halomon Жыл бұрын
@@DragonatrixI think it has a lot less to do with intentional gatekeeping and more to do with the fact that there are very few people involved in any game's speed running community, and there's no existing standard to classify games across all speedruns. So you have an issue of A. Fragmenting an already small group of players into categories that B. That small group of players may not have the forethought to create. In practice I think, just as showcased in this video, most people are going to be more impressed by the skill based, slower Speedrun than what is technically the world record holder. And for the vast majority of games it's not like there's any non-social/self-improvement benefit to getting WR.

No matter how much you think you know about or how good you think you are at your favourite game, you never measure up to the speedrunners. Imma comment here cause it's the latest video but this is general to your content, I like how you talk about your own achievements you sound so proud and not cocky it's quite wholesome. It's cool to have the history narrated by a guy who was part of it, maybe because it gives a feel of continuity like it's not in the past you're still there even if obviously none of the other histories are about dead people lol it's just a slight feel it gives. I've listened to a ton of WR histories or progression and none do it like you, I mean including their stuff like you do for what it's worth. Addin to the overall noticable quality of your narrating / editing / sound mix or whatever "the video sounds good" it ends up being really good content. It gets a bit dull if you're talking for a really long time about the same thing but you do manage your structure quite decently and mix up what you're talking about (short stories, strategies, level walkthrough etc). tldr good shit dude.
