Lovers card can actually be used to get soul hearts or black hearts, because it gives you hearts to the corresponding room type(using it in an angel room will give you soul hearts for example), making it very good in some situations :) Great tier list anyways!

Queen of hearts can do this too! You can EASILY get max hearts with one Angel Super Secret Room and a decent amount of hearts from Queen of Hearts, because they ALL become eternal hearts.

It's not determined by the room type. This is actually a hidden feature of certain Super Secret Rooms. All hearts will spawn as a specific heart type in those rooms. The Library-themed one makes Black Hearts, the Angel-themed one makes Soul Hearts, and the Womb-themed one makes Red Hearts.

something important to note about lovers, hierophant, reverse hierophant and queen of hearts is they can be converted to a special type of heart in specific super secret rooms, i.e. the super secret room with an eternal heart will make queen of heart spawn only eternal hearts, same with the one that spawns a black heart. that bumps its potential up by a lot imo

It's very niche, but I feel like The Fool (same with The Hermit, The Stars, and the Moon) can rarely have uses in combat scenarios. If you are low health and enter a difficult room, you could use it to escape to look for resources in other rooms. Can also be nice if you get put in a boss room early with curse of the maze.

Loving the tier list videos! The only thing that bugs me is using the color grey for 3/5 rating or the middle tier. I feel like yellow makes more sense as 3. Maybe use yellow for 3, green for 4, and blue for 5? Would make the colors feel more "correct"

I’d place two of diamonds slightly higher above clubs and spades, simply because you benefit more from doubling your money than bombs or keys. If you have 50 bombs, you won’t need another 50, same with the keys but having extra 50 coins can lead afford you buying 3 extra shop items+maybe another pickup. It has a bit more potential in my opinion

Im pretty sure you can use Chaos card to destroy rocks and even open secret rooms. So it also has use outside the combat (but you are still crazy if you want to use it on anything expect boss)

On tp cards (especially the fool) they are useful in normal and noss combat ie when playing as the lost and losing holy mantle, or if you only have read hearts and also bhave hearts lying around on the floor u can tp out if u take dmg and fill up your hearts before trying again. All tp cards aside from the fool can tp to a room w/ a fight in it (or may not be connected to other cleared rooms), so theyre less safe but they all definitly have defensive uses in normal rooms and especially bosses. Oh also tping out of delirium to fight it later has sum uses but idk if youd call that boss room isefullnes

Honestly I think you HEAVILY underrated the hermit? mainly cause it has so much more use than just finding a bad item and selling it, primarily selling pickups like red hearts can be very good like in that one ultra secret room with like 2 billion red hearts and it can also be useful if you say use it in an arcade where you pay out a beggar and it gives you a stinky item then you pay out a blood donation machine and get IV bag or something, honestly I am always happy to get a reverse hermit because it truly can give a TON of money and especially if you find it early that is VERY useful

In my last run i collect all pickups in first room in chest, sell them with reverse hermit and use d20 that i find on the floor. And uf you have blank card, d20 and reverse hermit. Oh boy you can just break the run.

Very very late to the party here but Reverse Hermit is really good at making more pickups appear outta nowhere because it sells pickups at the shop price of 5 pennies. So if you can get a bomb beggar to print you bombs with safety scissors you can go to town on your shop

10:30 u also can use blood donation machine to force i-frames to enter in a curse room for only half a soul heart and half a red heart instead of using whole soul heart. You can also use it to gulp trinkets with marbles.and technically u can even (and this might be a stretch) use it in combat to get i frames then hit enemies with any “contact” damage items. (The virus and farm black hearts, orbital damage items, midas touch and farm gold. So i feel like this could have gotten a few more points based on your logic of ranking, would love to hear your take on my view. Great video nonetheless

The holy card is actually good, It's not just a extra soul heart. The holy mantle works differently went getting hit compared to a regular no mantle hit. It can prevent damage to hearts being taken (Obviously) but also makes it easier to get/keep perfection and prevents Damocles getting activated when getting hit since those two things get a negative downside when actually getting hit (Losing Perfection and activating damocles which could kill you at any minute). TL;DR: The Holy cards works like the Holy mantle, which can prevent losing Hearts, Perfection, and Damocles Activating.

Personally i would put the tower card at number 4 for boss clears as most of the bosses spawn in the middle of the room and therefore die near instantly as almost if not all the bombs just spawn on top of them and go BOOM BAU BIDIBOING and its gg ez next floor woowoo. Also it takes ur bomb items effects if im not mistaken which should mostly be good instead of bad.

Just wanted to mention that the lovers might be better than you think. Since the lovers drops hearts based on the room type ur in, finding super secret rooms can net you a full heart container or 2 black hearts if you get the right kind. I don't think its placement should change, but the fact that it CAN do some crazy stuff is worth noting. This trick works in any angel or devil room btw

There really should have been a "Final boss" category as well, because as useful as, for example, the High Priestress is against the earlier bosses, as useless is it against enemies like Mega Satan, Hush, Delirium or the Beast. I'd rather have something like The Magician or Strength in those situations.

i know this is an extreme edge case scenario, but a few days ago i found the reverse hermit and it was amazing, because i had d20 and was able to turn 3-4 pickups on the ground into a bunch of coins to reroll and potentially start a loop

Chaos card absolutely has non combat effects. It breaks EVERYTHING in its path. This includes rocks, fires, and bombable doors. It can also be used to get into secret rooms. Throwing it is basically just using a bomb on everything in a straight line.

I think it would be worthwhile to consider how immediately useful a card is to your run. There are times where I wont want to save a strength card for a boss room, because im holding onto a perthro or something, hut if i find a two of diamonds or a heirophant, i can immediately pop it and then pick my perthro back up.

Imo the rankings for bosses and non-bosses for the cards that teleport you (fool stars etc.) should be a 1 because you can use them to escape rooms where you would have died. It’s far from the most common use of them but I have used them in that way in a few occasions

Thinking about it more after watching the video- the ? card is essentially a battery lol, but slightly different. A 24 hour pill as you may call it (instead of a 48 hour pill). (It's obviously not exactly, the same, but whatever) --- Also reverse hierophant has a very niche potential to be better than regular hierophant because it's essentially giving red heart containers instead of soul heart ones, aka- For the devil room, if you only have red hearts that aren't filled to 2 you can pay less hearts than you potentially could with the regular hierophant (since you need filled red hearts to get the multi heart deals if you have soul hearts as well). Obvs giga giga niche, but i've made it happen before. Also it's nice for other niche bone heart stuff like brittle bones or getting extra hits with sacrifice rooms, etc. Also reverse hierophant has a very niche potential to be better than regular hierophant because it's essentially giving red heart containers instead of soul heart ones, aka- For the devil room, if you only have red hearts

Lovers is underrated and better than heirophant in a lot of cases imo. There have been a lot of times where its let me get payouts from sac rooms/devil beggars/blood donos. If you have spindown dice then you can roll bloodbag into brimstone, making Lovers even more desirable. Love the tier list videos though man, they got me into watching your other vids :)

I was able to use the card against humanity against a boss, it was gurdy and 4 gurdlings on the ultra hard challenge so they were all champions and it was scary so I used the card and it trapped the gurdlings in poop so I could kill all the bosses one at a time

I'm sorry but Chaos is a *zero*? It's also the equivalent of a one-time use Dad's Key, it opens all doors but boss rush and hush, and now don't quote me on this cuz I most likely misremember, but I *think* it also opens the tainted character door in Home. Even then, being able to open the flesh door for free, being able to substitute for bombs to open bedroom or secret room doors, or any doors that ask for key as well, etc. is extremely good, EVEN MORE if you get a blank card as it becomes a more versatile dad's key.

I feel as though the chariot is not as good of a out of room utility as hierophant, but it probably should get an edge in dealing with normal rooms, because it can tear through a big horde of enemies. It can't do the same with bosses though, because of their health, and I think invincibility with ramming damage tends to hit weirdly with bosses. overall, out of room utility is a 3, normal rooms are a 3, boss rooms are a 2.

Holy Card is very good if you have Damocles. The Holy Mantle hit doesn't count towards it, so with a Blank Card it will let you repeatedly save yourself from getting Damoclesed

I was gonna beat Hush, Delirium, then Mother, then Satan, Lamb, Mega Satan... and then I choked and accidentally pressed the ZL button (I play on Switch) in the middle of the void. Putting the Card Against humanity usefullness in boss rooms at 0 is a disgrace, Im not sure if it was patched or not, but you can use it to prevent the second phase of Hush from spawning entirely, thus skipping it and also getting the unlock without having to fight it.
