It's great to see the reboot Jason high on the list. The movie has it's problems but Jason was extremely horrifying and a dangerous threat. The way he ran, placed traps and killed was brutal

Jason in Friday the 13th Part 2 with "Sack Head" will ALWAYS be my favorite, and the scariest. In 1986 I went to high school junior year on Halloween as Sack head Jason and I couldn't breath !!!! Edit : Jason in Part 4 the final chapter is so awesome when he breaks through the cabin door. In high school, about 10 of us dressed up in bloody T-shirts and made the movie theater come alive. It was SO much fun.

I know this is technically cheating since this look is from a video game, but I'm choosing Savini Jason as my number 1. For those who don't know, Savini Jason was a what-if character that was designed by Tom Savini himself and was given as a special reward to those who helped with the finances during the development of the Friday The 13th video game. The backstory of this look was what if Jason was dragged to Hell, killed the Devil, and took his pitchfork as a trophy. But, if I had to stick to the films and no outside media allowed, then it would be a three-way tie between Uber Jason, Reboot Jason, and Part 6 Jason.

@cam935n not when you realize Jason's pattern in the game cause he always follows a certain path. The other trick is to get the machete & keep it to use against him. You have to beat him twice to beat the game, 2nd round he follows the same pattern only faster & is tougher

Part 7 Jason is still the best design ever. He wore the exact same clothes from Part 3, and shows that how much it's been torn. If you look at the zombie face. You can see that he had the axe mark on his head, and the his left face is damaged by the machete that Tommy used to kill Jason with. He even wore the same hockey mask from Part 3. Even that showed how it's been damaged.

I love this design the best too for all the reasons you listed. Beuchler put so much detail into the costume - he wanted to show accurately all the damage from the previous entries. I love the chain around his neck, etc. It does look like at the end of part 6 that the boat motor was damaging the right side of the mask and not the left though, but oh well. I don't see how this looks like the same mask used in part 3 though. It's it just me?

My personal list would be: 12: Yeah, Jason Goes to Hell. While Jason Takes Manhattan face is downright bad in that film, Jason just looks a little too goofy for my liking 11: Part 8 as it's pretty bland in terms of his outfit and his face reveal is really bad in this film 10: Agreed. Uber-Jason is goofy (almost Power Rangers goofy), but at least better than the previous two on this list 09: Part 5, probably because it's the Copycat Jason. I like the blue change to the mask, but it's definitely lower on the list 08: Part 3. I know, sacrilegious, but I find this Jason being very plain and face reveal not as threatening as he still feels like a deranged human than the behemoth he turned to be in later iterations 07: Part 6. For me, this was a tie between this and the next one on my list as I overall prefer this Jason, but the pants are a little distracting compared to his other outfits 06: Part 4. If it wasn't for the outfit as I explained for my previous entry, then it would've easily took this one's place, but on the other hand, this one really felt like Jason going forward before the decay Jason took more of a presence 05: Part 2 as hooded Jason is more terrifying to me than when he became associated with the hockey mask. Probably should be lower as his face seems off, though it might be I'm not as big of a fan of the real faces of Parts 3 and 4 04: Jason X. His look and presence feels withered here, where I personally like that bit of roughness to Jason (and probably why my list is the way it is) 03: Freddy vs. Jason. Obviously with all that had to happen with this film, his look feels a bit toned down, but he still feels like a juggernaut throughout the film. 02: Part 7. This one has that nice blend of his outfit not being too simple and being terrifying to look at in terms of his face 01: Jason Reboot. To me, this one is terrifying without getting into the decayed territory (especially with how Jason was overall presented in this film) Yeah, some entries were the same, but I can tell my tastes differed in what I find scary compared to the 616's and what looks feel more like Jason to me. Shame the franchise turned out how it did, but at least it gave many versions of Jason and one hell of a legend to follow after he's debut in the 80s

This was a very cool video, Ian. My favorite designs would be Freddy Vs Jason, the reboot one, and The Final Chapter. They are definitely for me what defines Jason Voorhees as this pure badass cold blooded killer without exaggerating too much on some details. Also I’ll admit, while I haven’t seen Jason X, I’ll admit from a visual perspective, Uber Jason as ridiculous as he looks, I’d say he looks cool😅. Who would’ve thought, huh? Anyways, those are my favorites. Regardless of what we choose as our favorite, there’s one thing I’m sure we can all agree on, no matter how he looks, Jason will forever be badass. Had a Halloween costume of Uber Jason when I was young it’s pretty badass design. Also had a Jason goes to hell mask so I have a soft spot for the look. I’ve always liked pre Uber Jason X mask for some reason. I personally love the Jason takes manhattan look. The wet look makes him look more menacing for some reason

Jason designs from 4, 6, 7, and FvJ are my favorite but among those 4, FvJ is most iconic to me since I haven't grown up with the Friday the 13th movies but rather the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies (I haven't seen the Ft13th movies till later) and so I was most familiar with the FvJ design. My least favorite Jason design might be 2 or 8.

The look of part 8 was so disappointing, just like most of the rest of the movie. Especially after part 7. The way he came back to life lacked creativity as did the convenience of a mask being on the boat.... WITH axe cut damage. Also, he's missing the wrong eye in 8. 🤦🏼‍♂️
