CORRECTION: IMAGINE ME & YOU PLOT So it seems I completely misremembered 'Imagine Me & You' Homegirl didn't hire sexy Cersei, her mama did. Was there immoral shenanigans? Eh, a little, but homegirl wasn't the coldhearted cheater I made her out to be in the video. I'm sorry to this woman 😔

@@mpearson1280 i'm 67, so a sincere thanks for calling me whippersnapper, it's been 5 decades and feels great. you Are right, Thelma is a lesbian something else. but Kiss Me follows the Austenian plotline that rom-coms follow, so it may technically be one even if it does not feel like one? Tomboy is coming of age and has plenty of joy and plenty of angst. if you love French movies and summertime, you may love it, but once again i am wrong, it is not a rom-com. however, i disagree with our girl Evelyn Dar about Imagine Me and You. i think that the Piper Perabo character did not know what she felt for the florist, just that she wanted to know more about her, and that it slowly dawned on the Piper gal after she was married. hopefully they were not still together when the florist became a villain in Game of Thrones.

Great placing for Kissing Jessica Stein. I've always liked this movie; at the time it came out it wasn't just about whether or not they were queer (Helen absolute is; compulsory heterosexuality lesbian-vibes) it was also making a statement about the fluidity of sexuality. Women broadening and owning their sexuality without the involvement of men. Honestly, if they both had gone back to men, I would've been bothered, but I kind of like how the movie pushes against the idea that there was no point when their relationship not only made Jessica a more open-minded and evolved version of herself, but it also made Helen realize how she connected and fell in love (most likely for the first time in her life) with a woman. I may not be the best judge, because I actually like Gray Matters. (To be fair, I had a crush on Heather Graham for a good chunk of my adolescence) And Alan Cumming is absolutely adorable and so fun to watch in it; the way he becomes her closest friend and supports her in coming out after she rejected him was so fucking refreshing. He just cares about her as a person and wants to be there for her. Also, Kissing Jessica Stein and Gray Matters were the first wlw movies I ever bought while still in the closet, so I can't help but have a soft spot for them. Please do a part 2. The Incredibly True Adventure of 2 Girls In Love was actually the third wlw movie I ever bought (and had to hide, because of the title) and is honestly probably one of my favorites. I can't deny the problematic point of that woman who is clearly a groomer, but everything else in that movie just feels so sweet. The bashful way they fall in love, sharing the qualities that position them as polar opposites. Easily the best and luckiest purchase I ever made. It's out of print on DVD and I just happened to stumble on it at work.

@@fourthpanda I don't see it like that, I think the movie went consistently in the direction of Jessica learning to let go of her narrow worldviews and opening herself up. The ending feels refreshing to me because some people come into your life to show you something, not necessarily to marry you.

@@fourthpanda I don't see a correlation between these two things. She starts the movie extremely uptight and makes her way to that more relaxed, free-spirited woman we see at the very end, and that's because she opened herself up to other possibilities in life beyond her thinking. As for acknowledging how she hurt people along the way, I suppose that she could have, but that just wasn't the focus of the story.
