I had a blast reading it and seeing these abominations, but the work has problems: Stuff like genetic memory and psionics I can't take seriously, and the mekthoids and ticks have this implication that unless you constantly weed out the weakest from the genetic stock then the species will degenerate. It doesn't really work like that and it feels like an implicit endorsement of eugenics, and while the memory and psionics are amusing, that just feels wrong.

Also I completely agree with your assessment of the work, it's got a lot of problems and many of the decisions made in it by the advanced races are completely illogical.
