When I was in middle school in 2006 I was severely bullied and harassed on AIM. My mom found it and she was bawling her eyes out to me wondering why I never told her about it. I said I didn’t want to snitch and get bullied even more at school. But what these kids were saying to me was so disgusting that my mom said she didn’t care and she printed off all of the messages, called all of their parents and read it to them, and then brought them into my school to identify the kids to my principal. They all got in SO much trouble. After that I was put into the mentor program and had to talk with the school counselor about it. Then I became a peer mentor and helped other kids with their issues or sometimes even homework. I was ostracized from my classmates but I was treated so kindly by all of the staff. In 8th grade I finally made some friends and in high school I blossomed while all of those bullies got nastier and meaner and no one liked them. You definitely should tell the principal about what they’re saying online. They will get in a lot of trouble I guarantee it

@LFROSTVEVO3 жыл бұрын
Yeah but he telling other people "stfu, no you do not" when they say wanna be a youtuber. I get Brittany's point. Some can see it as ungrateful. He can point out there is a side of KZbin that isn't shown ans its more difficult than it appears but I think people get to that "ungrateful" part when he try to tell people what they want for themselves. I'm not a hater. I've been a fan and subbed for chris for while. He's one of my favorite creators- period. I'm not bashing him, not do I agree with the sentiment. I'm just trying to explain why some people may call him ungrateful.
@reneehelda40893 жыл бұрын
@@LFROSTVEVO oh for sure, deff don’t think you’re a hater lol - it’s a fair criticism. I think Chris comes across pretty harsh at times especially when he phrases things like that. I definitely see why Brittany would stop him then and remind him how ungrateful it could sound to some! I’m just glad he was able to elaborate on that. I wish he would feel more comfortable talking to these vulnerable points a lot more but I definitely understand that it might not be easy to.

For Chris not knowing any French, what he said actually said made a lot of sense. He responded to someone, saying he wasn’t going to listen to them, by saying “Vas vas”. This translates to “go, go”, which can also be a phrase that means “go away”. So in the context of what Chris was saying, it meant PERFECT sense. “No, I’m not listening to you, I’m getting a rabies shot. Vas Vas (go away).

Being a teenager is no excuse for bullying, I was on the internet in my early teens and managed to not bully a single person. Part of me understands why you wouldn't want to call out specific people because your followers might gang up on them but on the other hand I hate it when people get called out and then start whining about how such and such creator should be cancelled for sending their followers on them. Get off the internet and stop harassing and bullying people. The thing you could do is call them out indirectly sure, but I also have trouble feeling sympathy for those people, no matter their age. Teenagers aren't all like this so their age is not an excuse and the ones that do this won't stop the moment they turn 25 and their brain's fully mature. I might sound a bit harsh to some who think they should be the bigger person but... I've been bullied my whole life and no one defended me, at this point, as an adult, if anyone ever tries to bully me again I will snap.
@sonImbigguyinwoods Жыл бұрын
when i was 13-15 on the internet it took hard self correction and a lot of bad choices and lack of knowing to set boundaries for myself and stick to them, for me to learn how to avoid becoming a bad person. even throughout all the shitty trauma i never considered telling people to harm themselves or worse, ever. for the kids & minor-teens/teens that do this they either don't have anyone in their real life that has taught them better or they haven't actually faced consequences from their actions/such actions, if the people that they meet online don't react appropriately and condem such behavior they won't learn, obviously with in reason, but if pepole don't learn online, the consequences might be much more severe IRL.

@@ygfamilyfreak if you think about it though, at least with a 9 to 5 you typically are out and not thinking about it after you get off. KZbinrs can manage their time all they want but the reality is there’s no off switch unless no one is watching/interacting… that takes a toll. Content creators are still entitled to feeling shitty… There aren’t many spaces they can be open about how difficult their job can be. If we keep shutting down conversations like this because “you sound ungrateful because you can’t compare to X,” we’ll see an exodus of good creators. Mental health is vital no matter what. I was so hyped up when Brittany did her rant. I think I was more likely to comment negatively before having a video go viral and just seeing how insane and cruel people can be. After experiencing that, I realized there was literally NO point in taking time and energy from my life to say something that might negatively affect someone else. If I don't have anything nice to say, I really don't need to go out of my way to comment or tweet. But even seeing my direct friends talking about how hard internet fame can be, it just really didn't connect until it happened to me, even on the smallest level. One death threat from a stranger is enough to make you question our relationship with the internet. I wish there was a better way to get people consuming content at such a young age to understand that there are people behind these screens who are being vulnerable and often putting real labor into the content. There's too much of a disconnect. I'm sorry you guys go through this on such a large scale! ok all jokes aside i'm glad the crane girl survived. a girl in my town died when we were teens cuz she did the same thing but fell off the ladder as she was climbing down 😢

Guy’s tequila just really didn’t take them to flavortown and that’s the most disappointing thing I’ve ever heard 😂 honestly 10/10 best pod yet, I am living for the consistent uphill stride Chris has been on lately

I can't stop laughing!!! "If I were white..." Chris, sweetie, you are!

this was hands down the MOST unhinged episode yet and i loved every second of it. could not stop laughing.. exactly what i needed today
@nicolemac21243 жыл бұрын
The fact that i watched this three times because of the amount of unhinged shit i kept missing every time i rewatch it. GOD, chris and Brittany are ICONS. Internet: less vandalizing school bathrooms and more podcasts of chris and brit getting drunk.

The amount of times Chris mispronounced Bryan Cranston and Guy Fieri had me rolling. I adore these two together. Hope to see her back on again soon
@amandanicole12793 жыл бұрын
I started crying laughing when Chris started gagging so hard after Guy Fieri’s liquor I couldn’t still laughing like god damn. Brittany needs to stay forever because this makes me laugh too hard
