19:45 I don't have Maralen as a commander deck. But my friend Brett does. The whole deck is 95 swamps, Opposition Agent and a couple reanimation spells. The point of the deck is to get Maralen out and then tutor for your Opposition Agent. Then you're the only person allowed to play magic lol the reanimation spells are just in case your opponents find some way to remove it

11:48 The thing that makes Varragoth actually pretty busted is if you're running any effects that allow you to draw a card on combat damage. So you can declare your attacks with Varragoth, in response to blockers or at least before the damage step you search for a card. Put it on top. Then, resolve combat damage and draw the card. Pretty sweet combat trick

8:20, I was so disappointed when I learned that “a card from outside the game” didn’t mean just any card I could find in the room. A clunky one I would’ve suggested is Citanul Flute.

@Treefolk Harbinger, Lorywn had a Harbinger card for several tribes, there was a Merfolk one, a Goblin one, a Faerie one, pretty sure there was an Elf one. It was part of a cycle of these types of cards. Also Lorywn had Treefolk as a fairly decent archetype for big defensive units that then deal damage based on their toughness, which actually impressive with that 4 mana 2/10 white treefolk.

1:02:58 "Except for Treefolk Harbinger, it's just bad" How is it bad? It's one mana, and finds a thing, and is a decent blocker. What more do you want out of a one drop? There were a ton of treefolk in the Lorwyn/Shadowmore block, this is a great card. Nikachu's value rating of things confuses me sometimes. Is it because Treefolk is a creature type we don't see alot of? Ok it's niche for what it is, but you get a 0/3 blocker out of it and actually it's a 3/3 later in the game because you do damage based toughness in that archetype. The 4 mana 2/10 is a 10/10 for 4 mana, that will have trample.

55:32 illicit shipment great late game if you steal opponents creature you can sacrifice it and tutor two cards. So 8 mana total with an act of treason

You can also search for a Body Double, Clone, the Goose Mother, any other really good 0/0 creature really. Gotta learn to think outside the box

The best way to utilize Pattern of Rebirth is by using Natural Order to sack the creature. Then you get 2 creatures at the same time
