SoFi, Atlanta and Michigan stadium - simply because of capacity. The most people possible should be able to attend a World Cup Final, hence why the Michigan Stadium SHOULD host the final.

@@nmfo3445 if you care so much about something so surface level and meaningless like aesthetics and architecture then I don’t know what to say. Aesthetics and architecture have no effect on the game time atmosphere or ambiance. It’s just expensive eye candy. These stadiums have much better amenities and features than most of those stadiums that are designed to do nothing well but look good aesthetically. Architecture has no effect on their usefulness as a stadium, and it makes you look shallow to care about something as surface level as the stadium architecture instead of the actual functionality and amenities of the stadium itself. All of the stadiums in Qatar for example are worse than all of these stadiums. They were designed to look cool on tv, not to be great places to watch games. Again, architecture and aesthetics are completely meaningless and useless to the very point of existence of stadiums.

Well when FIFA decided to not include Minneapolis, Indianapolis, or Las Vegas and the league being in the midst of a transitionary phase of stadium development with the likes of Nashville, Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Washington (potentially even KC, Tampa, and Charlotte) getting new stadiums you are bound to have some that look "outdated". However, what this video fails to mention is how the ownership groups, and subsequently local municipalities and taxpayers, have done a pretty damn good job of renovating and adding additional features and benefits to those already built. Plus, the VAST majority of them had more money pumped into them than any of the ones you are likely thinking of as modern in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and that is after considering labor costs. Tbh, even the modern ones in other countries pale in comparison and are so surface level beautiful that if you ever have the chance to visit some of these you will be shocked at their depth and quality in comparison. It is literally night and day. That doesn't even begin to highlight the even higher quality and newer venues the likes of MLS, MLB, NBA, and NHL have all seen go up or start construction as of late. Throw those in and it makes the claim about literally any other country having stadiums on par with the US even that much more laughable to the point one might as well become incontinent due to how much they pissed themselves laughing.

that's because sport's culture in the US like the traditional look of things. but they're slowly weeding it out and doing like a hybrid of sorts lol

And play where? MT&T is a dump, former FedEx even more so, the RFK demolition and reconstruction won't be remotely close to finished, College Park isn't viable, neither is Audi Field or either Camden Yards or Nationals Park. So I guess just have them play on the National Mall and resurrect shoddy bleachers for the likes of 60-80k people!

All of the previous World Cups since 1998 have required new or heavily renovated stadia to be built in almost every city hosting. Qatar, Russia, Brazil, South Africa- they had to build all new stadiums for their respective World Cups. But not this time. There isn’t a single new stadium being built for this World Cup. All of these stadiums are fully functional venues that are used year round for various events- association football/soccer, gridiron football, concerts, pro wrestling, etc. The ones in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Miami look nice because those are the newest stadiums or the most recently renovated. The one in Los Angeles was completed in 2020, the one in Dallas was completed in 2009, the one in Houston was completed in 2006, the one in Atlanta was completed in 2017 and the one in Miami was built in 1987 but was heavily renovated in 2015. All of those stadiums were built with the most modern and sophisticated construction and design techniques. All the other stadiums (except the ones in the Bay Area and New York/New Jersey) were completed in 2002 and before, using construction and design techniques that are largely outdated. And something else- this is the first World Cup in a first world developed country since 2006 (the US and Canada; Mexico is not). So people can drink alcohol at games and have a good time just like they could at home, and not have to worry about their safety or how they can get to where they are staying. These cities know how to handle events of this scale, and there is the infrastructure to back it up.
