the band of seven were a right change to the story. and also may be based on the seven deadly sins, it unclear there they would be place on the sin slots but the best guess is this: Bankotsu: Pride for his leadership and wanting to be the strongest Renkotsu: Greed for him stealing the shards of his comrades Jakotsu: Lust for well obvious reason Suikotsu: Wrath for his murder tendencies Ginkotsu: Sloth for sloppiness with his kills and maybe how his body looks Mukotsu: Envy because of the no ladies liking him Kyōkotsu: Gluttony because of cannibal with humans

Bankotsu was one of my anime crushes when I was younger, hence why he was my favorite. Other than looks, his personality, his character, and his abilities in combat also struck me. Despite being the youngest, he didn't seem to be bright at first, but the fact he had a feeling or knew that Renkotsu was doing some rather shady things showed me that he was smarter than I thought. Jakotsu kind of gave me the impression that he was a hard-core yandere for men. The Band of Seven were probably the most memorable villains in InuYasha, even more than Naraku.

I just love how Jakotsu is the same as me when it comes to our good boy Inuyasha. He loves Inuyashas ears and also thinks he is cute as a human. My fav were Jakotsu and Suikotsu. Jakotsu because I liked his attraction towards Inuyasha and his sick sense of humour. Suikotsu background story was sad and I like his kind of friendship/ attraction to my lovely Kikyo. I like that Kykio killed him save Rin. I hated all the other but I have a love and hate relationship with Bankotsu. He just took too long to die but I felt kind of sorry and sad for him when he did die.

I enjoy Bankotsu so much, even though the deeds he has done were really unforgivable. Nevertheless, he is a fascinating combatant who did stand toe-to-toe with Inuyasha, as he served his purpose of being a formidable foe against him. This was due to his strength, skill, and power, which made him truly phenomenal. One should also not forget that both Inuyasha and Bankotsu appear to be about the same age, i.e. 17 years old, which makes me kind of see them as being akin to twins, with Inuyasha being the good, older twin brother and Bankotsu the evil, younger twin brother. Hence, the whole yin-and-yang dynamic they had in their battles, especially their final one. The downside to him, aside from the numerous unforgivable deeds he has done by killing various people, was his utter lack of logic, as Inuyasha did not kill his other "brothers", but the other characters as well. At least taking it all out on Inuyasha made me fascinated by how well they were able to match each other up and he had honor to boot, in spite of his dirty, bloodstained hands. Jakotsu is so much fun, as I really enjoy his flamboyance and the sense of psychotic danger he emits. What more can I say about this deliciously gay psychopath with a phenomenal weapon? I think I just answered my own question. However, at the end of the day, my most favorite had to be Suikotsu. This is not just because I happen to be a huge Suikotsu x Kikyou shipper, but I also enjoy just how complex and intriguing he was as a character. I figured that he could have a wonderful relationship with Kikyou, especially when he can father the war orphans with her being the mother, if Kikyou had exorcised his evil side away from his system. When that is accomplished, Suikotsu could lead the life he always wanted to lead without bloodshed or lust for glory, with Kikyou as his lawfully-wedded wife, and the war orphans as their darling children.

Yep. It seems you are right. Nevertheless before the last fight the only shichinintai member who was defeated by Inuyasha was Jakotsu. He literally died because of his infatuation with Inuyasha.

And ironically Bankotsu’s rage against Inuyasha reflects Inuyasha’s rage against him on the Hijiri Island, when Bankotsu hurt his frends, Inuyasha savagely attacked him with murderous intention, shouting about his friends and Kagome. Bankotsu even couldnt understand whats the matter with Inuyasha)

The band of seven represents 7 aspects of war. Did not know about the manga, but rape is a strategy of war and social control - common enough during war time that the Geneva convention forbids it. If you use WW! as an example, Mukotsu represents the use of chorine gas and other poisonous gases used in warfare. Ginkotsu how one side rode in on horses and the other side rode in on tanks. Renkotsu the use of fire during war. Suikotsu how war changes men. and so on. Inuyasha saw himself in Bankotsu - or how he used to be. The world was a tough place to grow up and the only way to survive was to get stronger. He had that need to become stronger - then the fear that he could hurt the people he cared about when the demon blood took over brought him to his senses. As Axel pointed out, as did Inuyasha before him, Bankotsu would have beaten Inuyasha if he hadn't of gotten greedy - he was strong enough already. Miroku also survived once because his opponent made her wind-tunnel bigger.

The original inuyasha was a lot of fun. Not sure how I feel about yashahime right now, especially since there is no manga. I read the inuyasha manga first, that’s how I always figure out if I’ll enjoy the anime. With yashahime, it feels like boruto. I have it a try but got bored after half an episode.

1. Bankotsu (pretty badass and his dub voice is so fitting) 2. Jakotsu (his weapon is so badass that it even wounded Sesshomaru, he even unlocks Sesshomaru's weakness which happens to be Rin, and his love fest mood towards the two brothers and Miroku were pretty interesting and funny) 3. Renkotsu (pretty traitorous but pretty badass like some kind of a firebender) 4. Suikotsu (sort of badass like Wolverine and after finding out about his tragic past, it's so sympathizing that it even make Sesshomaru stick around to listen to the whole split personality story as part to his development arc) 5. Ginkotsu (his talking accent with the "G" sounds is interesting) 6. Kyokotsu (may be huge but yet so weak that even Koga could easily beat him) 7. Mukotsu (obviously the worst one cause no wonder even Sesshomaru (is not affected at all by his primitive concoctions) he could beat him and it's pretty fitting that it made him Kagome's random hero)

That brings up memory of a favorite scene where the Inuyasha group first met Jakotsu. When he made flirtatious comments about both Inuyasha and Miroku. Miroku while his eyebrow is twitching says "Nobody minds if i suck him up do they?" All the while getting ready to unleash the wind tunnel and Inuyasha equally as annoyed and creeped out saying "Go ahead." 😂😂 that part of the episode never fails to make me laugh.

I have love Bankotsu and Jakotsu since I first saw them When I came across Jakotsu I thought " omg I love you!! XD you're sadistic and adorable!! " And once I saw Bankotsu... o_____o well let's just say he is my one true love okay. Those blue eyes and that smile blow me away 🤣 and he just seems sick of the world's bs to me. My ranking for the Band of Seven was exactly the same for the same reasons. I always teetered between Jakotsu and Bankotsu as my favorite out of the seven. I settled with Bankotsu as the top due to how he held his own in his fights and with his loyalty to his friends.

What I find perhaps most interesting about Bankotsu is how, after his blade became demonic and he gained demonic power through it, he was instantly cut down where before when he relied purely on his own strength he probably could have beaten Sesshomaru. Granted, Sesshomaru wouldn't have had the hard counter to Bankotsu's new demonic powers that Inuyasha did, but still.

Renkotsu had to be my favorite, he was an interesting character and we got to see him start to doubt Bankotsu's leadership turning into planning to kill him but eventually ending in his death. I think it would've been fun to see Renkotsu as a recurring character but then again most of his personality in the show came from his deceit which reminds me of Naraku and since Naraku was already a mastermind I don't think he would've had much of a part to play.

I've never understood Bankotsu's philosophy about death. There are demons running around eating people, breathing fire and crap. And he himself was resurrected along with all his friends yet the thing that pisses him off is belief in the hereafter. Yeah, okay man, whatever. MAYBE there isn't one for people like you because you're a selfish murderer, who isn't even innocent by reason of insanity because you're fully aware of what you're doing. Not a big fan of Bankotsu, he's sort of the pot calling the kettle black. If he didn't have a soul it wouldn't make sense for his body to revive with all his memories since his brain would be long since rotted away.

My ranking before watching: 1. Bankotsu 2. Jakotsu 3. Suikotsu 4. Genkotsu 5. Renkotsu 6. Kyokotsu 7. Mukotsu Hard to properly rank Ren/genkotsu since they are typically a team & Gen needs Ren's constant upgrades/alterations. Even tho Kyo died first, I feel he was decently strong... I mean technically he had Koga beat til he got cocky.
