I struggle to think of any other anime character who would actually consider it. Unless they're an anti-hero or morally ambiguous. I can't imagine Goku, Luffy, Midoriya, Ichigo, Kirito, Naruto, Naofumi, Saitama, Sailor Moon, or Gon entertaining the idea in any way. And that's just who I can name off the top of my head.

I always viewed it the same way. That the reason his father put the tessaiga in a pearl in inuyasha's eye was so that the sword would be with him permanently as a protection against his demon blood. It was hidden inside him in a sense / connected to it. Once it was separated he required physical connection to the sword to continue the same protection.

When I was a kid I always had a big fascination for giant swords and Inuyasha's was the one I always thought was really cool. You know apart from how many times I kept hearing wind scar wind scar wind scar wind scar! I mean damn slow down with all those wind scars lol. Even to this day I still like Tessaiga and now you are telling me the sword had a fire form in the manga? That would have been really cool to see in the anime but the other forms are just as cool especially in final act when he gets the broken power lol. Overall still a pretty awesome weapon even all these years later and I can't wait to see the other 4 videos!

Tessaiga was cool at first with the wind scar and backlash wave....UNTIL it started one shotting with Dragon Scale and LITERALLY sending demons to the underworld. Tessaiga is the most broken sword if Inuyasha actually uses it right meaning he actually thinks before using it, he'd be one of the most broken sword users in anime.

I didn't have a problem with the Dragon Scaled when it absorbed energy (like when he had used his sword and Koga's Goraishi and hit Naraku with it), then the Demonic Whirlpool was just plain dumb and Meido was overkill. Why couldn't Tenseiga use it instead?

Considering how his enemies became much stronger over the course of the series, it only makes sense that his sword grows stronger too. If you’re going by that standard, Kagome is LITERALLY the most OP character in the whole story as her spiritual powers at the end were enough to destroy Naraku. She was the one who dealt the finishing blow to Naraku. Not InuYasha not Sesshoumaru. It was Kagome. And Magatsuhi went to the effort of sealing Kagome’s powers away, but nobody bothered to seal away InuYasha nor Sesshoumaru’s abilities.

Sesshoumaru is able to overcome the barrier of Tessaiga for extremely limited durations with his own power. Once when he was confronted by the amalgamation of demons infesting Sara, once more while Inuyasha was under the influence of Soun'ga. Both times the sword actively resisted Sesshoumaru's attempts to draw on its power and caused him considerable pain in the process, such that he can only execute a single Wind Scar before he must relinquish the blade. So while the barrier is extremely powerful, such that it can overcome Sesshoumaru at all, it is not perfect as a sufficiently powerful demon can, at least for a moment, compel the blade into their service. And that is without the use of a shikon jewel shard infused arm, which admittedly allowed him more free use of the weapon, but was also never going to be a permanent solution.

Dragoncross42 and what's even better about the Tessaiga is that it's very possible for Inuyasha to put the sword on a similar level of the Bakusaiga if he kills and takes the abilities of the right demons. It's also a good point to mention that the Tessaiga's absorption(Basically copy) abilities have no limit, meaning that the sword can take hundreds of abilities making inuyasha far more powerful in the long run.

@@alphonsejohnson5601 The only issue I would see is how Tessaiga would utilize Yamato's full abilities when it obtains them as the only ability I'd see Inuysha using would be just opening portals to space for instant travel, as Yamato's full capabilities come from its wielders speed and agility which also comes from the swords Katana shape as Vergil's full capability as a swordsman comes from again his speed and the size of Tessaiga despite Inuyasha no longer having issue holding it would make it impractical to utilize something like the Dark Slayer fighting style, unless Tessaiga is capable of changing its shape to fit the power it obtained from Yamato

Even though the Tetsusaiga is cool and all that with the power ups, I prefer the Tensiaga (sorry I can't spell Sesshomaru's sword well) over the Tetsusaiga. Because of what it can really do. Who wouldn't love what the sword does? Besides of the Tetsusaiga can grow big like that, there's a couple downsides. You have to wait for the sword to transform back to it's regular form before sheathing at certain times.Or it does that in the middle of a battle when knocked aside or vice-versa before the demon blood in InuYasha takes demon form for protection to take place of until handling. It's been shown almost many times in the series. If it's not just almost, it's many times.

Well the meido zangetsuha is the reason why some fans say that he surpassed his father. It's because toga couldn't use the meido zangetsuha do to how unstable it was.

I think it was established early on that Inuyasha surpassed his father. Basically, when he defeated Ryūkotsusei, he surpassed his father in strength. Not to mention he was able to use the newly-forged Tessaiga more reliably.

The original series and manga had the sword spelled as "Tetsusaiga", pronounced Tetsaiga. I've seen the spelling. It is correct. As is Sango's "Hiraikotsuse", pronounced Hiraikots.

Do we know for a fact he didn’t ever transform into a full demon before? He didn’t always remember what happened afterwards in the series...and he basically wandered alone, running away from demons in the forest for like a hundred years before he met Kikyo (which is really sad to think about) I don’t know why I just always assumed it had happened before.

Remember where Tessaiga came from? Stored in his father's tomb and the tomb was stored in the black pearl and the black pearl was stored in InuYasha's eye... So Tessaiga has been near to him anyway.

I've always liked the power system in Inuyasha, it has rules but remains somewhat vague. It allows for some pretty varied and creative abilities without getting you bogged down in the minutia. There's demonic power and there's spirit power, one goes to demons the other goes to humans. There, it's so simple yet it doesn't get boring.

I really enjoy these videos. I subscribed so I could see all the new ones. I prefer the Tenseiga . Because I think it is elegant. The Tessaiga is almost uselessly large. It reminds me of Sanosuke's Zanbato from Rurouni Kenshin, and Cloud's Buster sword form FF7. Making one ask 'why is this sword so large?" But whatever, the lack of real world logic makes me like it less. I do think it is interesting, it stands out and balances Sesshomaru's. I will try to be constructive. I have a huge pet peeve for the phrase "... that being said" ALL the rest of the video content is great. You are easy to listen to, but that phrase is really jarring as well as distracting.

Its simple order the necklace off ebay(One of the ones with all the teath of course) They're plastic beads so.Go on Wish, order tiger eye striped beads Purple of course. Best sword Sounga the sword of conquest. Or the goddesse Suijin's trident who untransformed his sword. For instance, with only one hit, it reverted Tessaiga to its sealed form. I believe that inuyasha can surpass his father by copying more demonic abilities. In Yashahime, We see even more demons with even more unique abilities. So inuyasha could have still killed evil demons, Took their abilities, and make Tessaiga even more powerful than before as the Tessaiga has no limit to how many abilities it can keep. It's possible that the Tessaiga could eventually be on the Bakusaiga's level of power albeit in its own way.

I realized Inuyasha characters truly rely on their weapons especially Inuyasha. Without his sword he got bodied by two humans. I wish there was a really strong character that only used his hands but was also human. Like it would send a good message about how strong humans can be.

Well for artifacts and tools of demonic energy like swords or jewels he has to essentially cut the artifact or tool so cutting Bakusaiga would enough he wouldn't have to outright kill Sesshomaru. For actual demons he'd have to cut them down, though for the Adament Barrages case Inuyasha had to prove himself worthy of gaining the ability by not wanting the power as his friends safety were more important

I have my own theory of why Inuyasha didn't need Tessaiga to control his demon side. In the anime, we learn that Inuyasha's demon side takes over when he's on the bring of death. Though he was hunted and persecuted as a child and later as an "adult," Inuyasha never came close to dying - so far as we are shown - except the two times Kikyo shot him, which I will address below. Another reason for his transformation was when he would be corrupted with massive amounts of negative demon energy, such as when he had the corrupted shards of the Shikon-no-Tama in Tessaiga's blade or was corrupted by Naraku's essence, again with the help of the corrupted jewel. Both those times, Kagome was able to neutralize the effect with her purification powers, which is why I believe that Inuyasha did not fully transform when Kikyo shot him. She used spiritual arrows. Arrows which would neutralize his demonic nature even as they "killed" him (original pinning to the tree as well as later when she was first resurrected).

It would be possible for Inuyasha to eventually succeed his father by gaining more abilities over time and if inuyasha does this, it could be possible for The Tessaiga to be on the Bakusaiga's level in its own right(Though it will still kill only 100 demons it maybe on the same destructive level as the Bakusaiga.)

Other than the fact I don't really care much on the mistranslations or pronunciations you seem to be hung up on since you're talking about getting general audiences into a classic series that was able to be as good as it was when it got dubbed cause they made the mistranslations work to their benefit and helped deal with any awkwardness normally found in most dubs today but that's a whole other topic in itself. The tessaiga is a most impressive sword that's managed to remain iconic next to the likes of guts dragon slayer and clouds buster sword. And it's sort of fitting another of rumikos works would inspire similar concepts such as bleach in regards of how shounen characters would treat their weapons as partners or an extension of themselves.

I believe I have a better way to answer why Inuyasha didn't transform earlier in the series before getting Tessaiga. It's bcus he didn't need to. Let me explain, and no it's not bcus of plot or writing. Think of Inuyasha's demon blood rising to the surface like how Kurama's chakra rushed to the surface for Naruto. Inuyasha up to a certain point (like Naruto) wasn't fighting opponents that were not only on that level but it wasn't an extreme emergency. Granted with Naruto it was more so rooted with his emotions as a human holding a "Demon", but in Inuyasha's case a biological half demon it was a defensive mechanism that needed to be activated under extreme stress, damage, and overall unsurvivability (meaning there are no if's, and's, or butts. No "you can still runaway with relative ease and recover in a day or two"). This is why we only see Inuyasha transform 4 times in the whole series. 1st against Goshinki, 2nd when Sesshomaru atk'd forcing him to turn and by Sesshomaru's words himself "Made him afraid, even for a split second", when he was gonna get melted by that Moth Demon, and finally when he fought Ryukotsei. All these time under extreme stress, damage, and overall unsurvivability. That's my take on it. Hope you enjoyed

I have always wondered how the wind scar formed its power tho when Sesshomaru used it he was able to cut a mountain in half yet Inu no Tiasho used it just to know back some humans. What explains that power?

In all likelihood, Toga has the ability to form a wind scar that is only as destructive as he needs it to be. While it is possible Sesshoumaru's limited experience in using the wind scar meant the attack would be far more destructive than necessary, there also also two instances where he not only compels Tessaiga into his service, but also executes a wind scar that defeats only the enemy in front of him. This says to me that either Sesshoumaru is well aware of the destructive capabilities of the sword and wanted to show it off, or that his ability to execute the attack to its fullest extent is contingent on him not also fighting the barrier, which proves to be extremely taxing.

@@ricardomoseley He may have had guidance, but it does not seem like he'd have the experience to properly utilize it. It seems more likely that he is just brute forcing the wind scar to form. He'd probably have to since he can't withstand Tessaiga's barrier for very long. What is interesting is that he can conjure the Adamant Barrage(Kongosouha) and I think the Dragon-scale while Tenseiga mirrors Tessaiga despite probably having only seen it once and that not being a native power of the sword. Again, this could just be a matter of both brute force and knowledge that a power exists?

I still don't understand why people say inuyasha didn't surpass his dad when he obviously did. Let me explain: 1. After adding his fang to Tessaiga and defeating Ryukotsusei, Inuyasha's windscar was stronger and can be spammed instantly. 2. He realized the true purpose of the dragon scale Tessaiga( and the Tessaiga as a whole), which was to cut youki not absorb it. 3. Finally, While Sesshomaru did give him meido zangetsuha, Inuyasha mastered it to where a larger sword beam splits into 7 smaller ones. Inuyasha can control there flight path, how far the can go and even who or what they can consume. 4.(extra) while it's true that Ryukotsusei was weaker, he still gave inuyasha a hard time. In the end, inuyasha killed a demon that his father could only seal. Inuyasha's mastery of Tessaiga is the reason he surpassed toga, by pushing the sword to new heights of power that his father couldn't achieve in his time.

If toga had the tessaiga I still don't get how he lost to riyukotsei. When I first watched it I assumed the swords were forged after toga died. But in swords of an honorable ruler and yashahime it's established toga had them for a while. So what the hell.

Even though Bleach is seemingly inspired by Inuyasha, their main character (Ichigo) using the same technique ("Getsuga") over & over again got real boring, real fast. Too bad his sword didn't have the Tessaiga's ability to "absorb enemy abilities" to gain new techniques.

Hell with Zangetsu being technically a Hollow if written to take the Hollow elements into consideration Zangetsu would've had a similar ability as how do Hollows get stronger? Eating souls of living or dead humans and other hollows to grow their power by adding their spirit energy into theirs. For Zangetsu it would've been by cutting and absorbing the spirit energy of whoever it cuts

I would've liked Zangetsu's special ability to allow it to manifest the powers of any "special" spiritual being it killed (much like Tessaiga manifested the powers of a few of the "special" demons it slayed). Plus this ability would make his "final battles" more intriguing, because there's the possibility of his sword gaining a new technique.

i prefer the Tenseiga and in my opinion the tessaiga is complete trash when compared to Sesshomaru's Bakusaiga, which if anyone watched the series the effect of that blade prevents anyone from regenerating kinda like a virus if the demon where to regenerate a body part cut by Bakusaiga its effect would spread through the users body like a virus not to mention Bakusaiga is the only sword that can affectively kill naraku like Tenseiga is the only sword that can affectively kill anything that doesnt belong in the world of the living

Dude the Tessaiga is FAR from trash. The Tessaiga can be used for many combat strategies as the sword has multiple forms and can STILL GAIN FORMS. The Tessaiga is in the "Skilled and Strong" category while The Bakusaiga is in the "Unskilled but strong" category. In my opinion, I'd use the Tessaiga as my main weapon in battle due it's many forms and the strategies you can use with each one. Only when I'm on my last leg will I ever use Bakusaiga.

@@alphonsejohnson5601 what i really like about the Bakusaiga is that its effects are like a virus anything that is cut by that blade is immediately infected and anything that tries to absorb that part of themselves will be infected as well now can the tessaiga do that? no the Bakusaiga is stated to be equal if not stronger than the tessaiga just like tessaiga the Bakusaiga is able to slay 100 demons in one stroke anything cut by bakusaiga's blade that body part cant be used again unless you want to be infected and get destroyed from the inside out i'm sorry but i cant see tessaiga doing any of those things in my opinion the Bakusaiga is superior if not better than tessaiga, i would like to think that if Sesshomaru would've gotten Bakusaiga early on in the series inuyasha would be dead naraku dead and the series would be extremely short

Still the Tessaiga is a very useful sword, and sure the Bakusaiga is more powerful. But like I said the Tessaiga has many abilities that makes it extremely powerful. My point is That the Tessaiga isn't trash. A sword that can send 100 opponents to hell, Summon tornadoes as counter attacks, obliterate a freakin mountain with one swing, Roast opponents to Ash, Steal demon energy, copy other demon powers, fire hundreds of crystal shards, with each ability being able to combine with the backlash wave and windscar for terrifying attacks and counters is just as op as Bakusaiga's decomposing ability. I don't care about what everyone else say, But Inuyasha got it made

@@alphonsejohnson5601 to be fair the tessaiga and the Tenseiga (as we all know) isnt originally inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's swords they where given to them by Toga (their father) if it wasnt for their father both of his sons wouldnt have those swords to begin with, as for the backlash wave Sesshomaru over powered it with his dragon strike from a sword weaker then the Bakusaiga i know he did it from a movie but i still count it and speaking of both those swords Tenseiga and tessaiga use to be one sword until Toga decided to separate them so each one of his sons would have a sword but to be fair it is stated that Bakusaiga is sesshomaru's sword and not a sword from his father which is why it is so powerful and yes i know tessaiga is from Toga is the Bakusaiga the only sword that can kill nakaru? in my opinion yes

@@tim9119 Episode 51 I believe shows that the Tessaiga is truly Inuyasha's sword since he had it reforged with his fang plus its more powerful now that Inuyasha has it. Another side note is that Inuyasha is Toga's Spiritual successor because the Tessaiga is stronger after Inuyasha had it repaired with his fang.

Man the Tessaiga is my all time favorite sword in anime, from the Wind Scar and Backlash Wave, cut down entire armies in one swing, to gaining new abilities from cutting demons or artifacts. My top 4 favorite Tessaiga Transformations are.... 1. Meidou Tessaiga 2. Red Tessaiga 3. Dragon Scale Tessaiga 4. Adamant Tessaiga Like bruh Inuyasha's potential with that sword is insane, imagine he Tessaiga gained the power of weapons from other universes like the Yamato from Devil May Cry being able to cut through space and instantly travel from one play to the next by opening portals by cutting the air, as I don't see Inuyasha using the Dark Slayer fighting style.....like bruh The Tessaiga is technically like a Hollow from Bleach getting stronger and gaining a new ability depending on what it's cutting and if Inuyasha proofs himself worthy of possessing said power.
