@@jackoboy7766 yeah it really wasn’t as bad as you might think it was. For aps, I took 1 freshman, 2 sophomore, 5 junior and 4 senior. Senior year I left at lunch even with those aps and an honors class and I played varsity soccer all years except freshman year. If you have decent time management it’s not too bad except the days when all your teachers decide to make everything due on the exact same day.

@@jackoboy7766 but don’t do what I did, I passed all my APs and got credit for them, but some of them won’t even save me time because they won’t be meaningful contributions to fill my college graduation requirements. Make sure you take classes that clear hours for your major (required classes and what APs count for what class vary from college to college so think about what college you are going to go to).

I’m currently taking Ap bio, APUSH, and Ap microeconomics. Ap bio is killing me (but I blame mostly the teacher), apush is pretty easy but just requires a lot of reading, and Ap microeconomics is probably the easiest class I’ve ever taken. Honestly it’s crazy how different the workload is between microeconomics and my other APs. In AP bio we’re always struggling to have time for everything in class as well as us having to spend a decent amount of time out of class learning the concepts, but in microeconomics we have days where we just analyze the economic concepts in the Simpson.

Anyone whos considering taking AP classes, here is my advice as a college student: if you have a local community college check if they offer night classes that are equivalent to what you might earn by passing the AP test. I took 2 semesters of US history at Palomar in my junior year of HS and it was basically the equivalent of a 5 on the APUSH test and it was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. The downside is that you will miss out on the GPA weighting from an AP class.

I think society as a whole would benefit from everyone taking AP Stats. So many people do not have a basic understanding of statistics, and that hinders their ability to make informed decisions, all across the political spectrum.

@@cheezit2989 csp is an actual joke in terms of difficulty but overall the general class is 1. learn some programming concepts 2. learn about the internet/data/ethics/encryption 3. create a program which meets a few requirements and write some responses 4. ap test (no frqs) all in all very easy class and even like 8th graders can pass it with ease

AP classes stand for “advanced placement” and you have to chose to take it. The reason people take them is because it will give them a boost in their gpa and will look good in a application for a college (presumably). To take it in school your district would need to provide those classes. I’m sure you could take them on your own but I don’t think any college would honor it and it wouldn’t affect your gpa. Most of them are very hard anyway. tl;dr, your school needs to provide them and some schools in India do.

No, test out so he doesn't have to take calc 1 in college. Thats how it works. Took AP calc in 10th, but most take it senior year. It's pretty fun.

If my school offers Calc BC should I do it? I have had a 95 average in honors precalc but I’m not sure if I should do BC because people say it is very difficult and requires a lot of time investment. I am planning on an engineering major though so it would be worth it. I really have no idea and my counselors aren’t very helpful.

I took Precalc last year and skipped to BC for this year. It’s definitely much tougher than my past math courses (math has traditionally been one of my easiest courses; BC has probably been tougher than each of my other four APs this year), but it is possible to do. I managed to get an A+ in the first semester (but it would have been a normal A without the assistance of some extra credit), and I have an A+ right now. Based on scores so far, I have a very high chance of getting a 5 on the AP test. Skipping to BC was definitely a good decision for me, but it isn’t for everyone. Expect 2-3 times as much work and much more difficulty understanding everything. If you’re willing to take on the burden and you think you’re up to the challenge, skipping AB is possible. If you decide to take AB first, BC will probably be the easier of the two for you, and you’ll get more time to digest everything. Only skip to BC if you’re an absolute whiz or you want to put in more effort now to save time in the long run. Some parts won’t be too tough, but others will be quite difficult, so you’ll need to be prepared for the occasional night of misery. If you have any other questions, I’m happy to answer them. No matter what you choose, I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your high school journey!

I only took AB calc, but i actually started without taking precalc and it was an easy A, i only had to do after-school work to prepare for the AP 3 times and I got a 5, all in my sophmore year. And judging from teacher and my friends teacher from a different school, AP calc teachers don't expect you to do too much for homework, if any at all if you do good on tests. Tbh i would have killed to be able to take BC calc but my school didn't have it. Judging by what you said it could range from fun but somewhat challenging to interesting and a cake walk. Ik i only took AB, but it's only half a semester more of content and i learned it on my own with just a few hours.
