This is awesome and definitely has some locations my husband and I will probably check out. I know you were sticking to the Denver area. But wanted to see if you have ever checked out Hideaway Steakhouse in Westminster? Would love to see your thoughts. My husband and I went with his sister and her partner shortly after Christmas this year and none of us had ever been there. It is pretty expensive, but we thought it was a great gem of a place. Great staff, great menu and great atmosphere. We were also sat by a sweet fireplace. I knew before we even got there that it was a place I would want to return to for another special occasion just based on the menu and how many items I wanted to try.

Went to Guard and Grace, first time, for Thanksgiving...it was SPECTACULAR! Of note, don't bother with the 4oz filet if you are getting the crab oscar because the 4oz is small, so the crab oscar is small...get the 8 oz so you get more crab oscar, for the same price, 22. The toffee dessert was out of this world and the espresso martinis were incredible. Thank you for the recommendation.

I went to Shanahans and I gotta say, it was good, but I was pretty disappointed at their accommodation for my birthday. We went on my actual bday in December and put a reservation well in advance asking for best seating they could offer... they sat us in the very very very back corner by a window (keep in mind, cold winter weather) and there was a Xmas office party next to us in a private party room that was so large that people were just standing in the whole walkway to the bathroom and in my direct view of sight the entire dinner. Given that you rated in the 8's, I wanted to give some insight for others. Ocean Prime has always treated me great, been there 4 times and have always enjoyed my quality and service.

My wife and I had the opportunity to take the company card out to a nice dinner as a reward from work and we chose Guard and Grace. It was without a doubt the best meal we've ever had and we still talk about it. I had a ribeye that was incredible. We sat right next to where all the food leaves the kitchen and we just watched in awe all night. There was a small mistake with our order so they accidentally brought us both types of potatoes they offered so we were able to try both the whipped and the cheesy potatoes with one on the house. Both were incredible. The brussel sprouts were amazing as well. We had a butter cake with fresh fruit, whipped cream and ice cream on top which was incredible. We also ordered some of their famous chocolate chip cookies to go which are out of this world good. The service was the best service I've experienced anywhere. It's definitely high end but they treat everyone incredibly well. Just look at their Google maps page and look at the pictures people have posted. You'll need a reservation to get in but it's incredible food.

@MileHighGrowlerАй бұрын
I'd agree for me going out and looking for the best steak in general. But to compare steaks, I actually agree with the NY Strip, because if a place makes a great NYS, their ribeye will be amazing. There's less discussion about the marbling and just straight focus on how they prepare a fairly pedestrian cut.
@DenverLivingwithSamАй бұрын
👆🏻This guy gets it.
@garyco766Ай бұрын
@@MileHighGrowler I mean.... sure? It's a bit like saying he should do sirloin, because if you can make that crappy cut taste good then you must really know what you're doing. Bastien is a great deal, for $45 you can get an 8 oz bacon wrapped filet with a soup or salad and sides are included (veg + mashed/fried/baked potatoes). They do rotating mashed potatoes that are always loaded with some kind of bacon/cheese/toppings etc. The salads are solid and honestly I sometimes regret it because its too much food. The soups are pretty standard but I always pay the small upcharge for the french onion soup which is so so worth it. I usually pass on the sugar rub, its good every once in a while but a bit too much for me, bacon wrapped filet is more than enough. Sides being included, plus a soup or salad is a fantastic deal. Their bread is always hot and fresh with butter mixed with parmesan cheese, and the few times the foods come out slow they always bring more bread. They make a solid dirty martini as well, and they also have a spiced dirty martini that they add black pepper too which is pretty good. All their cocktails are reasonably priced, as is the wine. They are family owned and run, many of the staff are relatives or friends of the family and make a big effort to remember their regulars, and try and make you become regulars lol. Bastiens is the best bang for your buck while still airing on the side of finer dining in Denver. If you want dinner on a friday or saturday night you absolutely must book and plan ahead. Trying to book week of can be difficult unless you like eating early or late. I always book the prior week. If you walked in at 6pm on a busy night you probably wont get sat unless someone cancels.
