I've always loved the boss themes in this game so it made me happy when you mentioned Fyrus' theme. It felt fully Orchestrated even though the game just used Arranged Samples.

It definitely has the best atmosphere and design of any boss in the game. Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to take damage from it. But maybe that’s what they were going for?

A part of me wishes Zant was the final boss. Like if Ganon summoned Zant to aid him against Link and Zelda, but Zant sees his "god" beaten and decides that he should ascend, killing Ganon, to become Zantorf or something like that.

Two things.1) The horseback battle is amazing with surround speakers. I use the speakers to find him rather than twirling the camera. This makes the fight so much easier. 2) I combine all the final battle phases (Zelda puppet, dark beast etc.) as one boss fight since it is all Gannondorf. All combined phases making it one of the best Gannon battles in the Zelda series.

Zant will always be memorable to me, both for his absolutely insane bossfight, and for his playable appearance in Hyrule Warriors, where his entire moveset is almost one-to-one taken from his boss fight here... and he's also one of the easiest enemy captains to beat on because of how revealing his weakpoint gauge works.

I wouldn't say that zant is my favourite boss fight, I feel the "retreading old boss gimmicks" is something that runs me the wrong way. But I really appreciate your take on zant as a character, as my love of him is the same. I actually really enjoyed his arc, as a pathetic man driven mad by his greed for power, and Ganon almost acting to him as some eldritch deity he foolishly put his faith in. It is one of the more interesting Zelda villain dynamics which wouldn't have been achievable with zant just on his own. I also appreciated how his boss fight echoes the character - a desperate man who can put on a performance of threatening you, but truly lacks any skill of his own. Thanks for another great video Billy! You are fantastic.

This might be a hot take but Stallord is completely overrated. I feel like stopping the fight midway completely ruins the momentum and excitement of the fight. All you do is jump back and fourth waiting to slash at its face and it also takes forever for his appearance to finally show up while you just keep spinning and spinning. It wasn’t my favorite. I did enjoy Zant, Blizzeta, and Argorok. Fyrus would have been the best but it desperately needed a second phase. The final fight with Ganondorf and the four phases are also extremely memorable and fun.

Maybe it was from playing all the 3d zeldas in a row but I found a lot of the bosses in this game tedious. Puzzle fights are fine, but solving the puzzle is only fun the first time and needing to repeat the exact same process twice more with usually no danger at all just made me think why. Argorok was the worst just climbing those towers over and over. Im really glad they started to ditch this format in the later games.
