When I was a kid I actually made my own phonetic alphabet (I didn't know about the IPA), and I envisioned the CH sound as just a T and SH back to back, I still don't quite get how that's wrong actually.

That’s how it is in the actual IPA for a reason, I’d say it’s a pretty fair assumption. It’s not even wrong; affricates are just the co-articulation of a plosive and a fricative at the same position in the mouth.

I was gonna say something in reply but realized I do that, it’s because the English alveolar approximant is retroflex and therefore the stop followed by the approximant will turn the stop into a postalveolar affricate (ch in the English change) but of course if the American English rhotic were actually alveolar it would sound like ts (like in American English eats) tɻæʃ vs tɹæʃ becomes tʃɻæʃ vs tsɹæʃ

The French G would have been way higher in this tier list. Since, unlike English, G in french has got an actual rule of prononciation which is [ʒ] in front of E, I or Y and [g] in front of A, O, U or any consonant. While in English it's very confusing : in a word that contains G you can't necessarily know when it makes the [dʒ], [g] or [ʒ] sound. And even sometimes it makes the [g] sound when it's not even supposed to : for exemple in "get" or "give" why didn't we put a silent U just like in "guess" so now it has a reason to be pronounced like [g] ? I can totally understand that you put English G in the lowest tier it's so confusing. Btw, I'm disgusted by the idea of English and Italian language deciding to add a [d] sound in front of the G and the J, like it should have been just [ʒ] instead of [dʒ] because I don't like this concept of dependence between the letters I don't like that Q always needs U to live or that the [ʒ] sound always needs a [d] placed before. Otherly that's a nice tier list.

K isn't even common in Spanish. Plus in loanwords, it can be both a [k] sound or a silent sound in words like "knox". T here is not a single word in Spanish that begins with K outside of kilómetro, Kilogramo, and all those other Kilo- words and that's literally it. In Italian, K is even more uncommon and even Kilo words are written Chilo (ex: Chilogrammo, Cilometro, etc.)

I would use a more precise system where a letter is given points based off form and function. In form, 0 is trash, 1 is ok, 2 is good,and 3 is great. For function, 0 is useless, 1 is bad/meh, and 2 is perfect. Also, k can be used before an i, e or y so people don't use a soft c. I think there should be a version of k that makes the hard g sound so people don't use a soft g sound when there should be a hard g
