As a huge boxing fan and fan of the franchise I have to admit that I most enjoy part III. I love watching Rocky's arc as a prizefighter reach its peak as he goes from becoming the hunter to becoming the hunted. Money and fame change all fighters. It's inevitable. However it's the will, desire, and dedication to stay at the top which separates the 1,000's of title holders who've come and gone from those who leave a lasting legacy. The opening montage depicting Rocky's rise in fame and fortune coinciding with Clubber Lang's destructive rise up the ranks set to "Eye of the Tiger" is priceless. "The worst thing happened to you that could happen to any fighter......you got civilized", is one of the best lines of the franchise. Mickey's death scene is one of, of not THEE, most dramatic moments in the series. "I love ya, kid. I love ya." For me it's more effective than Apollo's death. In terms of villains I thought Clubber Lang brought the perfect blend of physical intimidation factor combined with charisma and personality, which Drago unfortunately lacked despite being Rocky's most physically-intimidating foe. And he's still the only guy to make a public pass at Adrian. "Hey, woman! Hey, woman!" Now with his trainer no longer in his corner, he's not only facing the fear of a man who whooped his behind, but also self doubt, facing the idea the his entire title run was nothing but a mirage, a facade created by an overprotective manager. The bromance between Rocky and Apollo was a great addition to the franchise. For my money the ending fight sequence was easily the most adrenaline-inducing. "C'mon, champ! You ain't so bad! You ain't nothin'!" **cue dramatic music** Anyway, that's my sell job on III. Besides for V, which I'd place at the bottom, the others are difficult to rank. They all have their ways of depicting boxing as a metaphor for life which give them their own charm and personality. Stallone's done quite a remarkable job with this franchise and if anyone can make Creed Jr vs. Drago Jr. somehow work, it's him. You know who else has done a remarkable job? You, with your channel. I just discovered it last week and it's fucking awesome!

Stallones a legend, he created these characters, directed 4 of the 6 movies & created a cinematic icon in Rocky. Excellent video Cody, I used to hire these films religiously in the 80's from the video store & Stallones always been my favourite action hero, these are Blu ray purchased in my movie collection. You heard Dragos back for Creed 2 from what I've heard Dragos son fights Apollos son.

Great intro Cody loved it. I'm 43 I grew up on Rocky I saw Rocky 3 and 4 in theatres way back and man I was hooked. When Rocky Balboa hot theatres in 07 I loved it , they certainly went out with dignity fixing what was a horrible last Rocky 5. All in all what can we say about these movies. Creed was great and Creed 2 should be a good one also I don't think it will be as good as Creed 1 only because the Russian character was more cartoonish but who doesn't love Rocky 4. Creed kinda reminds us of Rocky very realistic and lots of emotion.

My list: 1. Rocky IV- I love 1980s movies, and this is a very '80s movie. The music, montages, robots(?!), anti-Soviet propaganda, U.S. nationalism... It's most definitely an '80s movie. 2. Rocky- It's a classic. 3. Rocky Balboa- It's just as good as Rocky. I like this movie a lot. The entire "it ain't about how hard you hit..." speech... Probably my favorite line in the entire series. 4. Creed- Good introduction to Adonis Creed, and a great Stallone performance. 5. Rocky III- Entertaining movie, just not as good as the others. 6. Rocky II- Not bad, I like it as much as Rocky III. 7. Rocky V- It's not terrible, but it's nowhere near as good as the rest of the series.

Rocky is my all-time favorite film and my favorite franchise. I'm in an extreme minority I'm sure but I've always ranked Rocky IV last. To me it was a mindless action film with no point and very little substance. Great training montage and soundtrack though! Even the worst Rocky film is still watchable. That's the unique thing about this franchise in that none of them are really terrible. They can all be watched and enjoyed. I appreciate what Stallone was trying to do with Rocky V by going full circle and the message that family is more important than money/material things. It just got a bit heavy handed and ended up being rather depressing. Rocky Balboa came the closest to equaling the heart of the original. I do agree with you about Mason Dixon though. Kind of bland for an opponent. It's my second favorite. I love the Rocky movies. Thanks for making such a great tribute to this great franchise!

I agree that I enjoy somethings about each one of the Rocky film installments. Each one of the films have a good story within them, and I feel that each film has someone that I can either love or personally relate to. Rocky, Adrian, Pauly, Mickey, Apollo, among some others. I enjoy Rocky 2 the most, that rematch is very entertaining to watch. And the story, the drama, the emotion and the passionate performances. Rocky 3 and 4 took me a little time to live with because Mickey died and Apollo just gets destroyed when Rocky really should've thrown in the towel. Brutal scene, but Drago didn't bother me at all. He was made to be a machine of a fighter, and his wife was hot indeed. The original Rocky has some of the best storytelling. I forgot that Rocky and Apollo had no problems with each other leading UP to their first fight. I liked Mr. T as a kid but in Rocky 3 the fights did nothing much for me. Once Rocky exploited Clubber Lang's flaw of not pacing himself for a fight that would last longer than one or two rounds then Lang didn't appear to be much of a problem for Rocky at all and he got him out of there. I like the film introduction scenes of Lang knocking guys around but I like that promo that Clubber Lang cut during Rocky's retirement speech. That was good stuff. I thought Rocky 5 was cool but the story was pretty typical, Rocky Balboa was a good film and Creed was a pleasant surprise.

I know I'm commenting a lot but I think what a lot of people miss about the scene in Rocky 2 where Rockies doing TV commercials and we realized that Rocky never learned how to read and eventually Adrian teaches him how to read. First of all you want to talk about some Nicholas Sparks s***. You want to talk about a beautiful part of the story where Adrian green Rockies Bond is better than ever. But I think what people miss about the scene where we learn Rocky cannot read is when Rocky goes the distance with Apollo Creed in the first film Rocky feels as of now respect would be his and we learn in that scene that even with his Fame and more of his fortune he is even more disrespected then when he was walking the streets of Philadelphia. In my opinion and maybe it's because I'm such a bias Rocky fan I thought that was pretty powerful. I'm pretty powerful statement. I feel as if Rocky 2 was the perfect film. For the most part. It filled the gaps that the first one failed to do. And let's be honest if we are going to talk about the slow Parts in Rocky 2 will rock you one at times was boring.
