No one really has shared their opinion yet, so I'll be the first. Just discussing my overall thoughts on each level, not exactly ranking them as I'm unsure which one should go where. Greenflower Zone - An utterly fantastic introduction to the game. The zone teaches the main mechanics and physics of SRB2 perfectly and is a nice and cosy level for mucking about. Sadly it is rather short and the boss is forgettable (and annoying with Amy or Knuckles). Techno Hill Zone - Just as good, if not more so compared to it's non-infected brother. Techno Hill was the basis for all the other 2.2 redesigns for a reason. Only downsides I can give is the Knuckles route being rather poor and the turret enemies being an utter nuisance. Deep Sea Zone - It's. . .alright. I only have an Acer Windows Laptop but it runs perfect. The level does feel rather cramped at times alongside confusing when Token Hunting. The water is also rather cumbersome, but I still like it. The boss is quite a fun one too! Castle Eggman Zone - What a comeback story. Being such a horrid level throughout all of the previous versions, 2.2 makes this steaming pile of trash into a masterpiece. It's climatic and not as open as some other zones, but unlike Deep Sea Zone, there's never a dull moment and the cramped space works in it's favour. Enemies are tough but fun and the spikes are a fair punishment without resorting to instant death. Personally I also quite like the boss. . .except when I'm Knuckles. As long as your character has a normal (or in Amy's case an amazing) jump, it's not that hard if you stay calm. Much better than it's 2.1 boss...yuck. Arid Canyon - Those ropes really are hard to grab, stupid turtles are hard to hit and cacti are a pain in the rear. Mostly an excellent zone that's creative and also quite open. For characters like Metal Sonic, it's a playground for flying. Also Fang is an enjoyable boss provided you know how his hit boxes work. Red Volcano - Personally the lava doesn't bother me. While it is a pain to lose all those rings, the platforms provided are quite large and the level is also quite fast and fun. Excited to see the other two acts be completed. Egg Rock Zone - While I've mostly sung this game's praises, they end here, just like all my lives. Egg Rock Zone is an utter pain with instant death waiting around every corner. Extremely tight timers, Mega Man vanishing blocks in a game where such precise platforming doesn't work, crushers everywhere, damn lasers, everything is out for your blood. Titanic Monarch at least doesn't punish every small mistake with instant death...and to think that this is the easiest version of Egg Rock so far. OLDER EGG ROCK VERSIONS BELONG IN THE DEPTHS OF THE UNDERWORLD Black Core Zone - Brutal for first time play through, but rather fun on repeat ones. Black Eggman deserves a special shout-out for being such a major stepup to his 2.0 crappy battle. Hard, but extremely fun, instance, climatic and actually fair. The Metal Sonic boss isn't my cup of tea, but the race is also quite fun and more fair than previous versions.

Having played through these levels since this video, I think I agree with almost all of this. I've come back around to Red Volcano Zone, Black Core is definitely easier when you know the route and shortcuts, Deep Sea only really lags if you take a very specific route with a specific character, and Egg Rock never gets better due to the sheer unpredictability of its traps.
