Until today, I had no idea I was pronouncing the word "Valkyries" wrong.

I'm not sure you have been, this seems to be a point of debate. OED only has the "VAL-kuh-ree" pronunciation. Merriam-Webster has "VAL-kuh-ree", "val-KEE-ree", and for good measure "val-KY-ree". The Norse and Danish pronunciations seem to be something like "val-KEE-re-a" (as the word is "valkerja" in its original form). But the English modification doesn't necessarily mean the pronunciation will remain consistent. I haven't seen anything that makes definitive the "true" pronunciation, though admittedly I haven't done a deep dive.

The Default music clip is pretty much the equivalent of the "Call to Post" that plays before the Kentucky Derby to summon the riders to the starting gate.

Easily one of my favorite soundtrack during childhood playing this. Sadly, we don't see this game being continue in the future.

"The Default" sure sounds like the starting theme of Defender II for the NES.

I was immediately wondering how you were going to apply the gameplay song rule to this one but I kinda like this approach. It feels like the short video game jingles had their day on the show for once. =D

Getting this game when I was 7 when it came out, I would think the Don Flamenco would eat the flower and punch the clock during his intro! Other than that, Piston Honda’s theme is my number one - it was very intimidating!

I know this shouldn't count, but I love Aran Ryan's theme on Punch-Out!!! Wii. In fact, all of the Wii version's themes remastered from this game are great.

I must admit, I like this approach from the previous soundtrack rankings. Less omitted tracks due to guideline prerequisites are kind of nice. I think it allows for a better understanding of the motif to the soundtrack. Personally, I like hearing you talk about the additional fluff pieces, when ever you sneak them in. As I feel sometimes, those bits are every bit as important to the overall audio experience. Also, I like your takes on musical themes and theories. The more the better.
