Wild take: Fairy tail is less horny than many other shows, like let's say Vanitas no Carte. Do the characters get sexy clothes, lose clothes, etc. in FT? Sure, but most of it is played for comedy. There is literally a running joke about Lucy's sex appeal not working. While VnC has vampires and their "victims" enjoying all the sucking. And don't get me started on the sexual tension between almost every character. So FT definitely has more boobs and nudity, but is actually not as horny as people think. And yes Lucy is a great character: kind, smart, always getting stronger, good backstory and personality, and with consistent character arcs. P.S.: I'm totally not mentioning VnC, because I'm waiting for Danny's next reaction.

Honestly? Lucy is probably the best written character in Fairy Tail, and is one of the best written female character in Shonen anime. Fairy Tail genuinely has some of the best female characters in Shonen (I say this as a woman). They have plenty of arcs dedicated to them, take down major villains without being strictly put in the "girl vs girl" fights, and while there is fanservice it mainly revolves around these women knowing they are hot and owning it (plus there is plenty of male fanservice as well). Most importantly though, they are given genuine relationships/friendships with their male counterparts and are treated as equals. Personally, I think you can tell a lot about how a show (particularly Shonen) treats their female characters if you look into the shipping culture that follows the show. Fairy Tail is one of the few Shonen's where the F/M couples are undoubtedly the most popular pairings (like really one of the only well accepted M/M ship I can think of is probably Freed/Laxus, but that's mainly because its pretty much canon that Freed has a crush on him). This is because the women are actually given depth outside of the men and have genuine connections with their male counterparts that aren't forced. Unlike in many Shonen, where the only interesting relationship is between the two male leads and then people are surprised when everyone is shipping them instead of shipping the mc with the girl who was clearly just added to be the girl member of the squad. Like sure the show has it's flaws, but I feel like people seriously overlook how Fairy Tail actually treats its female cast outside of the fanservice. And people can attack it for the power of friendship all they want, but at least the show has genuine well written friendships between all of its cast regardless of the their gender. Sorry this ended up as a bit of a rant, anyways can't wait for FT to come back in a few months!

Totally agree; I watched the show when I was 14 and Lucy is genuinely still one of my favoirite characters in anime. I vividly remember the arc of Juvia and Gajeel becoming part of fairytail, and it was genuinely so well written. Even as a girl watching, the fanservice never bothered me. it was very lighthearted and done pretty equally between the males and females.

Hiro mashima has always been fantastic when writing for characters. It’s one of his strongest after routes as a writer, and he never slouches when writing for female characters. They’re all treated with the same amount of respect, and a lot of them stand out far more than the main male characters in the show.

Unironically, as horny as fairy tail can be sometimes, I actually think has the perfect balance of fan service in it. It’s not to much that it gets uncomfortable, not out of place that It lessen the impact of certain scenes, actually use for comedy in a good way, in BOTH directions for the males and females, and in line with their characters. I’m so happy fairly tail is coming back in July

About Fairy Tail being horny, it's funny because both hosts are kinda right but also kinda wrong. Like Lucy 100% is just fetish stuff. Each of her summons with the exception of Aqua, and scorpio is a different kind of fetish character Horny Bull Masocistic maid etc etc But fairy tail also goes out of its way to let their women characters own it. Like Erza's got a sense of humor about it. definitely strikes a balance with the fan service.

I don't get ragging on hulu. Like, it doesn't have enough anime, but it's got good stuff. The UI is fine...good, even...and compared to Crunchyroll it's phenomenal. Crunchyroll is....fucking horrible, from what I've experienced. It's so hard to believe so many people have bought into it, but they've cornered the market. Hulu grabbing exclusives is a lot healthier for the industry than Crunchyroll having exclusives, for sure.

While you are correct about the length of most of the manga you mentioned ( Chainsaw Man and MHA), Jujutsu Kaisen has been 19 pages for every chapter the past 3 years, except for the last chapter of the Zenin Clan Massacre. That chapter was only 11 pages because Gege's health was declining.

the problem with "just get good set designers and cosplayers to make the props" is that they are *so* fucking expensive. Cosplayers can make these props look so good because there isn't a time frame and there isn't really a budget associated with it, if it takes you 3 years to make the iron man suit, it doesn't matter if its for a con, 3 years doesn't cut it for a commissioned show though.

When I watched GO GO, I expected the first episode to be kinda like the reveal from Akame Ga Kill (SPOILER WARNING), where the innocent girl that helps the Mc turns out to be absolutely off the walls crazy. The show starting out like a traditional fantasy anime then abruptly switching to a darker tone for the rest of the show. I’m holding out hope that the switch up is going to happen in the first 5 episodes of Go Go, but either way it’s a cool watch

In the one punchman movies, I don't want them to skip the kings arc. Subterranean king, terrestrial king, sea king, and a little nod at the sky king before boros. I think they could stop at the sea king and leave boros for a sequel. They'd have plenty of time for set up and pay off and then a after credits scene teasing bang for the meteor and borros fight except instead of teasing borros they should show the sky king. So when the aliens show up in the sequel finale, it feels unplanned and shocking. In the first movie, they use the sub king and Dino king to make us underestimate the sea folk. Probably saitama vs. genos as a mid movie climax fight. Assuming it starts off with a narratorated montage that covers the first episode leading to mosquitoe girl as the early fight scene.
