Izzy got to be S tier, I don't even like the guy but all his fights with Alex in kickboxing and mma he's been piecing him up. He might lack some power compared to guys like Alex or Jones but as far as technical proficiency with distance management and feints there's almost nobody better. As far as fight iq and career dominance he's better than everyone matched with him in A and he's done it all on the feet with only defensive grappling.

Like if one guy has a power advantage and all the fights are close/the other guy wins the majority of the rounds, it seems like the conclusion is that the other guy is as skilled a striker. If Leon Edwards is such an amazing striker, why does he have 3 KO/TKOs in 14 wins in the UFC? Why did he get badly out struck by Bryan Barberena and Albert Tumenov, and have to rely on grappling to get a win over them? Leon Edwards is a boring point fighter who does just enough to steal rounds and squeak out decisions. He isn't elite at anything, he is just good everywhere. Anyone claiming he is an elite stiker, or worse, one of the greatest welterweights of all time, is completely delusional.

Jones has been in massive trouble on the feet and only made adjustments in following fight, Folk with his bad head kick defense, Max with his lack of power, Pereira with his spotty defense, Adesanya the same. Pretty good list imo but Jones is not S tier. I'd put almost everyone at A and quite a few in B over him. It's just been shown too many times that without a massive reach advantage, he's not great on the feet, particularly in the boxing department. Speaking of boxing, Max should arguably be S tier. I think the problem is your judging being inconsistent. You judged a lot of the fighters simply based off of the fact they haven’t become champion or haven’t had as much success as other fighters instead of pure striking ability. Like putting Ian Garry at C instead of B. But when we talk about Leon and Izzy not being in the same category even though he’s more decorated than Leon not only in MMA but also in promotions like Glory, it didn’t really come into account. Just think it should be judged strictly by the eye test. I love the content tho keep it up!!

Not only that, but while gsp and Oliveira are cumulative records for grappling (subs, control time, top pos time, bonuses, takedowns) and miller for no of fights number of wins and number of takedown attempts!?, toms top tens are mostly ratio or % which are harder to gain and keep and toms are mostly striking related where he also has most impressive metrics of all time. Of 4050 fighters ranked, Tom is: 1st best strike differential with 4.95. O’Malley is 3rd, umar 4th, Pavlovich 7th, Gane 9th 1st shortest avg fight time at 2:10. pavlovich is 2nd, rousey 6th 1st least bottom position time, chimaev 4th 1st least bottom position %. Jbj 3rd, chimaev 6th 4th most strikes p min. Casey O’Neill 1st, Pavlovich 3rd, O’Malley 5th, ulberg 7th 4th most knockdowns p 15 mins. Pavlovich 1st, daukaus 3rd In addition, for sig strike accuracy led by overeem 1st, pereira (his only entry in tables) 4th, at 62.8% O’Malley 5th@ 62%, Gane 8th @ 60.9%, ulberg 10th, Tom would be second of all time at 67% but doesn’t reach 350 threshold to appear in table. Tom has 100% takedown defence (1st position Julio arce on 96.2%, 2nd jbj 95%) and 100% takedown accuracy. (1st nordine taleb at 76.2%). These have 20 attempt min threshold. Trouble with last 3 under discussion in prev paragraph is you have to be: A. Poorer finisher than Tom for strike accuracy to need more than 17 strikes on average to win. Tom has only needed 134 total strikes for his 7 wins 1 loss and on a 4.95 strike differential. B. Slow enough at finishing fights for opponents to have a chance to take you down 20 times. C. Bad enough a finisher to take people down 20 times without always finishing them otherwise you’d need more fights than Jim miller to even qualify.

No TJ is a sign that you know nothing about combat. He's THE GOAT in striking. He's not gifted, short range, no special reflexes and medium power and speed. Unlike people like Silva and Conor. They are gifted with unreal reflexes and reach. But TJ's skills are top-notch, from masterful offensive and defensive footwork to mixing up his strikes to setting up his strikes (with feints and combos) to quick fight adaptations. Like him or hate him, he's P4P greatest striker of all time.
