The point of Aikido is not to hurt your opponent. the point of any real advanced martial arts and Aikido is to stop a fight or neutralize the opponent as fast as possible and in Aikido to use the energy of the opponent to do so by a Philosophy of "what goes around comes around" in other words to keep your Karma clean by making art movements so that none of the combatants actually get hurt. if possible. It is more a body philosophy of martial arts to create peace rather than a system to hurt people. . It is meant for people who already are skilled fighters. Because there is already a plethora of martial arts to hurt people even Jujitsu, to break bones, Hapkido, Tae kwando, Mua Thai, box. or To neutralize nervous system points Dymak. Aikido is a form of meditation for those martial artists who understand already the rest of martial arts. A form of retirement to unify wisdom of karma and skills of the body. It is not meant to wrestle without previous knowledge of other martial arts.
