Absolutely adore all of the research, time, and effort that you put into each and every villain, looking into laws, money inflation, zoning laws, even doing insane math like finding the volume of bars of gold to determine the cost of each and every bar (Dr. Coffin Episode). I love all the time you spend explaining each and every villain and explaining why their plan worked, and where it flopped and the detail of every segment is astounding. Except Carl the Stuntman. Thanks to these videos, I've devised a theory that Scooby-Doo must take place in a universe where gold is much lighter than its real equivalent. Which, actually, helps resolve several other questionable problems between their reality and ours. For instance, in a world where gold is just as valuable but much easier to transport, it would just be natural for there to be more bank heists and armored truck robberies, giving rise to a more laissez-faire attitude toward crime in general, which explains why otherwise law-abiding citizens don't consider it all that outlandish to begin their schemes. 'Light gold' would also mean it would be much easier for the super-rich to hoard wealth in physical goods (the gold), freeing them to use their liquid assets to take out increasingly large loans and manipulate world markets in their favor. In short, the Scooby-Dooniverse takes place in a world where they only have 1970's technology but a 2020's economy, and it would be more common for people to need to resort to theft in the form of elaborate schemes, just to stay afloat financially.

Since you mentioned scrappy, here’s an idea when you get to that area skip the last episode of the first Scooby-Doo and scrappy show because it doesn’t follow the typical Scooby formula and I think most people agree that it’s just a pilot for a spin off starring scrappy and his friends And skip to the point where Daphne rejoin the franchise because I think some scrappy defenders argue that the era where it was just Scooby shaggy and scrappy doing weird stuff is responsible for the hatred and after that, he’s more tolerable
@JoeGoesOver5 ай бұрын

@@JoeGoesOver like I said the part where it’s just shaggy Scooby and scrappy you can skip unless you’re doing at the very least the boo Brothers because it’s one of the most complex villain schemes in the franchise, which is saying something plus when Daphne rejoined gave us a classic Christmas special which has been shown multiple times on various home releases, and the fact one of the best twist villains in Scooby history

It's my shameful secret that one of the reasons I choose to film myself as opposed to just doing voiceover is sometimes it's easier to write a facial expression than words. They were absolutely 100% real people. My valedictorian passed away a couple of years ago from an illness and the guy I used to work with was murdered, believe it or not. They never arrested anyone or reported any autopsy findings, but it's likely the fight had injured him badly enough that he died from internal injuries.

The new Scooby series that just got announced seems interesting, it's called Go-Go Mystery Machine and it's going for a more anime-inspired art style. The official description is "While visiting Japan on the ultimate foodie adventure, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo unwittingly unleash hundreds of mischievous mythical monsters that are now causing trouble all over the country. With the help of Scooby’s uncle, Daisuke-Doo, and magical friend Etsuko and gadget wiz Toshiro, Shaggy and Scooby have new mysteries to solve and monsters to catch!" which reminds me of the 13 Ghosts show and the red shirt Shaggy era in general, especially since Fred, Daphne, and Velma are nowhere to be seen in the key art provided. Hopefully it gets the franchise back on track after the complete disaster that was Velma.

I'm no scientist but I don't think physics would allow that to happen. Also, the heavy duty vehicle landed on its roof, there could just as likely have been death there if Steve was unlucky and got crushed. Also, I can't be the only one who thinks the aliens look like broccoli... Steve, Laura and Max could have gone with a scarier look. Maybe something like Andrei from the video game Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines. On Scooby potentially killing Steve, I'd argue that the Gang has reasonable justifiability for self defense. If both sides don't mention the actual aliens at all (because they don't want to sound crazy) the fact of the matter is the villain's were about to actually murder the gang to keep their secret. In an actual trial even if the villain's were to claim they never intended harm, that can easily be disputed with the evidence of the fact the Gang stumbled upon them already doing criminal activity of a scheme tens of millions (with mining equipment and the gold to prove it) + the fact the MPs were armed with guns (even if never used, the threat of them could lead to extreme actions_ + the 'aliens' are also already guilty of a not inconsiderable amount of kidnapping. I imagine most judges would probably assume (rightly) that the villians intended to kill the Gang in order to keep their secret and the gang had to fight back to survive.
@JoeGoesOverАй бұрын

In all fairness, this movie is mostly memorable for not only having an actual creature in it, but also for having that real creature be a good guy and to top it off have that real creature fall in love with Shaggy. Shaggy has all the game. My man is honest about who he is as a person and always wins over the girls. He’s the walking definition of “if you want girls to like you, just be yourself”. Regardless, given how the movie focuses on the romance, obviously they wouldn’t have time to develop the villains by much. Had it not been for Crystal and Amber being both great love interests and actual aliens, the film would’ve been forgettable and uninspiring. Had Crystal and Amber been allowed to stick around, they’d have undoubtedly been the best love interests for our scaredy duo ever..

I do watch and enjoy the Renaissance videos too, don't worry, though if I had to take a guess as to why they're not quite as popular, I wonder if it could be in part because there's a bit of "mystery box" excitement to the monsters and schemes of the regular Scooby series. The four Renaissance movies are some of the most popular and celebrated Scooby media out there, and likewise they're what almost any given Scooby fan has seen or experienced at least once. But by contrast there are fewer who have watched older Scooby series like The New Scooby Movies and The Scooby-Doo Show, or at least they've experienced them less times than they have the movies. And so there's a bit of fun to revisiting these episodes and seeing what brilliance or stupidity or general bizarreness we get this time. Everybody remembers Simone and Lena's plot to drain the lifeforce from their victims to sustain their immortality, but how many people even knew about that time a time machine experiment was faked onboard a cruise ship so that a bugman from the future could steal investor money?

This is my favorite Scooby film so I'm glad that the aliens got a decent score, it also lines up with the prediction I made in the Witch's Ghost video. If I had to rank the movies I'd probably go Witch's Ghost < Cyber Chase < Zombie Island < Alien Invaders, but even Witch's Ghost is a solid 8/10 IMO. With that done, we now return to the Scooby-Doo Show and our regularly scheduled 1970s offensive stereotypes.

Sorry to hear of all the trouble you’ve been having with copyright and monetisation. Fair use never seems to make much sense to me even after reading about it and the research I’ve done on it over the years and the exact definition of what fair use means seems to be in a constant state of flux. Which companies then greedily exploit with all the fair use definition loopholes in excess. Don’t get me wrong I understand why it needs to exist but I don’t like how the lines between it all are never not blurred to some degree. This Scooby Doo movie is in my opinion one of the more complex in terms of plot for the renaissance movies.
@JoeGoesOver5 ай бұрын
Fair Use is reasonably easy to determine if what the creator is doing is sufficiently derivative of the source material, not to mention much of what I do could easily be classified as a review or commentary. Unfortunately, KZbin is run almost entirely by bots and because of all the threats of legal action from the early Wild West days of the platform, now they'd rather screw over the people producing their content than upset any potential rightsholders. Regardless, I'll keep doing my best to avoid triggering the match system as much as possible. Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting my channel!

Every time I think of watching Alien Invaders or remembered the plot, I always think of the King Ramses episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog, since it was a bonus on the VCR tape. I like the story of it but when it is compared to the other 3 in the Renaissance era, it’s always the bottom of the list. Now that you mentioned it in the video, Im intrigued to see an alternate ending where Scooby accidentally impales Steve during the forklift joust scene. It makes me curious how the rest would play out, and how that would alter Cyber Chase, since canonically, I believe it happens after the events of Alien Invaders. Would we start with the gang sitting in a jailhouse? Would the warden throw a party in the county jail? D.O.O. score wise I was surprised by the D.O.O. Score. But the operation totally made the D.O.O. score make sense. I do wonder what charges the three would have got especially because they mention they used the gold(which wasn’t theirs) to buy a helicopter. I don’t see any of the three getting anything other than a life sentence or two. I can’t wait for the Cyber Chase ranking video and S3 of the Scooby doo show.
@JoeGoesOver5 ай бұрын
Without knowing if Steve, Laura and Max had any prior criminal history, it's difficult to say. Even if the Gang were able to make the attempted murder charges stick, I can't imagine the three of them getting more than thirty years each. It's even possible they could accept a plea agreement to dismiss the attempted murder charges and provided they cooperate fully with the Federal authorities, they might even see freedom within a decade or so. The U.S. criminal justice system seldom sees people get sentenced to the maximum allowed under law unless there's a compelling reason to do so. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Ah my nostalgia ,I think this movie was aired the most out of the 4 Scooby renaissance movies in my country ,sure it strayed from the more darker tone of the previous two and the songs were kinda corny ,but the romance between Shaggy and Crystal and Scooby and Amber was too sweet .I also like that this movie kinda started the "Shaggy and the girls" trend ,like Fred is the traditionally more attractive one ,but across the Scooby multiverse Shaggy is the one with more game .The twist of one of the gang's allies being the real "monster was also interesting. Since we got 1 more movie from the renaissance era , I wanted to ask if you plan to cover the other Scooby movies in the future ? Amazing video as always
@JoeGoesOver5 ай бұрын
Provided I'm still able to keep producing these videos and there's a demand for them, I will likely hit more of the DTV films. I've had quite a bit of interest in the Red Shirt Shaggy era (the three late-1980s films that preceded the Scooby Renaissance), and while they're not exactly my favorite of the franchise, they appear to be enough of a fan favorite I'd be a fool not to cover them. Indeed, in 'Reluctant Werewolf', Shaggy had a girlfriend, over ten years before he showed interest in Crystal! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I was initially disappointed with the DOO score, but did come around after revisiting your talking points. The villains were willing to kill and had glocks instead of the usual "family friendly " Elmer Fudd rifles. If the old guy's claims of probing were true, the villains were willing to commit sexual battery and assault to keep up the charade. 😱 Looking forward to Season 3 and the Cyber Chase.

Only a few minutes in but wouldn’t all the “alien” activity the villains created actually bring more attention to their operation, not just from locals but for the government as well? Like their station was pretty empty of people. Also, why do all the scooby villains have to be so greedy. They could have hid the entrance with a fake wall and soundproofed it a little and then took shifts with one lookout to slowly and more quietly mine some of the gold. Even a little bit would have set them for life.

I totally forgot to comment this one! Well, let's do it now. Aliens invaders for a while as always be the less notable ine of the four, but rewatching it found it actually quite enjoyable, expecially the Crystal and Amber sub plot. The villains are the most standard of the tetralogy tough, but they arr not devoided of good qualities. Their costumes though reminds me to much of broccoli to be scary. I appreciate the originality though, after all you can do basically whatever you want with aliens. I have very little to say about their scheme. Onestly i am struggling to find things to say in general, maybe just because it's been a while i watched the movie. Sorry for the short comment this time. And now we are approaching the third and last season of the Scooby Doo show. That's gonna be a long one, and pretty mixed in quality if you ask me. For the first two episodes, i found the owl spirit (i don't remember the name) pretty interesting (hoping it's gonna be considered an outfit since it's piloted by a man not wearing anything underneat) but the owl men pretty unimpressive. The scheme was also pretty boring. The skeleton men where cool in theory, but the fact that you can clearly see the fakeness of the skeleton suit kill the outfit for me, plus they might be a bit too similar to Space Kook in concept. The plan is interesting but a bit weird logisitically, the thing that stuck out with me more about the episode was a blatant mistake where the villain is in two places at one.

But saying that some people think that this movie is a weak from the previous 2 because it feels like a random episode because the bad guy are in costume instead of real monsters but the real and weak aliens design are impressive The power of love that you can be a badass without a license and without killing a guy and where is that from 13:20?
