Of all the folks i watch on sailing channels, i knew you would be the one concerned about ear safety when cleaning the hull of a boat. Well done. Myself, i'd use a full wet suit with head cover, for my hair.

What a great island, your tour gave me all kinds of ideas for a husband that keeps trying to get me to go to the beach for six months! This would be a great place to spend that much time with plenty to do! Vera is growing up so fast and I’ve noticed that she’s the life of the party wherever she goes! What a wonderful childhood, she’s getting to “live” what all the other kids are “watching videos” or reading about. I always feel like I’ve learned something after every video, they’ve gotten so professional that they’re like a series or a documentary, just wonderful!

Our experience in the Caribbean is that in many of the anchorages the water has so many nutrients in it the barnacles just explode on the bottom if the paint is more than 6 months old. We have to clean the bottom of GAME PLAN every month here in Grenada. It’s a pain but,, we’re in Grenada. A good trade off. Are you going to make it this far south?

$200 in the local currency which comes to about $75 US. I have a hooka system onboard similar to what RAN has so I do it myself most times. Grenada is the only place I’ve seen where a barnacle will grow on another barnacle. Lol.

A watermaker is on the wishlist. They cost from about $5000 and above, depending on the brand and capacity.

Not only do watermakers cost a lot to install, they also require critical work, resources and electricity. Operating, maintaining them is another task to add to boat jobs. Also when you leave the boat for a while, the watermaker needs to be pickled to protect the membranes.

If you are breathing compressed air DON’T use ear plugs. You will stretch your inner ear drum. Use a dive wet suit hood instead to keep the critters out.
