“Music of school shooters that never shot up the school” WHY IS THAT ACCURATE SHEBIDBWHD

honestly, I would rather see noko be happier and release more comercial music. I love the first three albums to death but I wouldn't want them to return to that head space again.

Attack on Titan season 2 introduced me to Shinsei Kamattechan. I fell in love with that track (Yuugure no Tori), but when I checked out more of their stuff (briefly skimmed through Minna Sine and listened to a couple tracks from Hero Syndrome, then I heard Rock'nRoll Wa Nariyamanai) and I wasn't really feeling them primarily because I didn't really dig Noko vocals and wanted to hear more tracks from whom I initially thought was the "female vocalist" from Yuugure no Tori lol. Eventually I checked out the demo of "Yurei Miman" on youtube and got helllaaaaa into it; so much so that I gave Tomodachi Wo Koroshite Made another listen on itunes, fell in love with it (especially Pentel and 23sai No Natsuyasumi), bought that album and the Yuugure No Tori/Hikari No Kotoba single/ep at the same time, then Tsumanne and natsu.istall shortly afterwards, and the rest is history lol.

Personally I love all the stuff they've put out. I heard their Attack on Titan S2 OP but I didn't go further into the band at the time. When Boku no Sensou released for Attack on Titan Final Season I was so in love with the song I had to know more about Noko and the band. Since then (December) I've been pretty much working backwards through their work, from the tracks I found I liked on Child's Medical Record and Tsun x Dere. I saw someone highly recommend Tsumanne so I gave the whole album a listen in one sitting and fucking loved it. That was last week and I've been going through a lot of their early stuff including the demos. What I like is the early stuff has that very rough and emotionally damaged stuff, and the later stuff has a real bitter sweet feeling to it which I also love. Stuff like 33 Year Old's Summer Vacation and Autumn Sky Cider. It's all my kind of music luckily so I listen to it all, but I can understand how someone might be into only their early stuff and not the later stuff or for newer fans perhaps the other way around. Noko definitely still has that wicked edge about them, it's what keeps the performances fun when Noko stares down the crowd like a mad man/woman and becomes absorbed in the music, but the fact is there's no one like Satou to bully Noko now and they're a happier person now - which I think is all any fan has wanted since the beginning.

Good rant. I kinda found out about shinsei kamattechan by searching for a particular version of the Aku no Hana anime opening, the one that was sung by Noko, but it was hard to find that out, but I insisted and I won, and I got a favorite Japanese band of ALL TIME. Alot of songs took some time getting used to (after hearing it for the 3rd time or so it would stick in my head and I started appreciating it) Because it was basically noise. And I loved it. I kinda felt the same like you, like it resonated ALOT. Had a hard time, and this was just it. Browsing for hours to find the perfect live version of a song, but the amount of live video's seems endless.

i found Shinsei Kamattechan back in November 2017 by listening to one of your many music recommendation vlogs, so i have to thank you for that. listening to Tsumanne for the first time was a truly transcendental experience; cannot be expressed into words how perfect that album is that said, ever since i decided to go through the rest of their entire discography, Tanoshiine (their 5th record) remains as my all time favorite. i wrote a long review about it once (johnjrenns.wordpress.com/2019/01/23/fun-an-appraisal-and-an-overview-of-shinsei-kamattechans-best/) that says everything there is to say, but i think that album is Kamattechan at its best, doing what they do best you say its when they started becoming more mainstream but i disagree, the songs are still tight as ever and the production can be just as interesting as their previous albums, like in "concrete no mukougawa e". really, i would argue their 6th album Eiyuu syndrome is when Noko REALLY started trying to write pop songs. and as much as i love the absolute density of sounds packed into Tsumanne, in terms of songwriting, i find myself remembering the melodies from Tanoshiine more often - choruses like in Hana-chan no seisho, Nakama wo sagashitai, or the killer guitar riff in tori mitaku aruite ko and while im not the biggest fan of Eiyuu syndrome and onwards, the album "osanasa wo nyuin sasete" from 2017 is sort of a return-to-form for them. the album is worth listening just for the song "maisuri/mai-chan zenbu yume". it completely abandons the usual song formula and it feels like they were really trying to prove that they can still do new and creative stuff. the entire album is pretty long but it is severely underrated by fans

Strongly agree about "Osanasa Wo nyiun Sasete". It's so criminally underrated, but I dig it quite a bit and find myself returning to it very often. Have you checked out their 2018 release, Tsun-dere? Another solid Kamattechan release imo.

I’ve only heard their latest album in full. Haven’t bothered to check out their other stuff since most of their discography is regionlocked (including their most recent album) and I was too lazy to figure out how to listen, but might try and listen to some of their early stuff now

Interesting rant. I discovered the band back in 2015 with Zuttomo. I fell in love with them. Not gonna lie. A little after that, I got obsessed with Yuugata no Piano. I remember I used to cry a lot with it because it was the first song in Japanese I completely understood on my own at that time and investigated why that song existed. It hit me hard af. Anyways, I got into a lot of their old stuff. It has power and I love it but I can't lie, even if they're changing their style to sell, I still like them a lot. I recently watched Denpa Onna just because I knew the opening was from them. And I didn't enjoy the anime, lol. Anyways, I still think they are great even if it's not as powerful as before. I enjoyed every song in Natsu Install. and now I'm obsessed with Ruru's Suicide Livestream Show MV. They have become my favorite Japanese band.

I found out about this band from spotify I didn't pay much attention because the vocalist made it hard for me to like the song However time passed and the more I heard the songs the more it grew on me It wasn't until I heard the one of ruru-chan that I gave the band another chance and I liked them a lot. Today I'm finding so much information about the band that is being quite hard to process everything There's 1 particular song that I hear the most from the new album, but Idk the title that really resonates with me. I remember I was talking to my friend about this band on how cool they were and got shocked the band was formed in 2007 and never heard a track from them ( since I mostly hear jp music for years now)
