Back in the early ninties, I was in sixth grade and Gurdas ji performed in Gorakhpur. Next day we were traveling to Delhi in sleeper class and Gurdas ji was in AC. Before the train started, me and my sister went to say hello and invited him to our coach. He came to our sleeper coach, sat with us for next four hours singing and performing. Someone from his group took our pictures and surprisingly mailed to us via post after one month. Amazing memories and what a gem of a person. Lots of love and regards to him.

I am a 19 year old Gen Z kid and I am so proud of myself that I am born and brought up in a Punjabi family listening to fantastic artists like Gurdas Mann paaji, Babbu Mann paaji, Surjit Bindrakhia, Chamkila and later Jazzy B and all. I remember my mother used to sing Gurdas mann's "Challa" while cooking and I used to ask her as a kid, what the song means. I loved the meaning and it's one of my favorite songs of all times. About two years ago I listened to "Ki Banu Duniya Da" by Gurdas mann and Diljit paaji and loved it soooo much. Also last week, me and my mother saw a movie about partition era starring Gurdas Mann paaji and Divya Dutta named "Shaheed e Mohabbat Boota Singh" and what a movie it was, what beautiful songs it had, I've never seen a movie so realistic and heartbreaking as that one.
