Rex Stevenson it’s not bad. It does what it’s meant to do. High energy music to vibe to. If the lyrics were super introspective it would ruin the atmosphere of the song because it’s not meant to be taken seriously.
@YouCanCallMeXoe5 жыл бұрын
@@Yoshsterpalooza It's a one take rap track that hardly even raps. It fails as a rap song. Sheck rides a single progression of notes in his singing, resulting in a droning, overly stretched out repetitive slog, and the beat is limp, and yawn inducing, so it fails as a hype track. Also, I'm sorry... high energy music? Pfft... So... all y'all go to parties where all they play is douchebag acoustic guitar music? Because the only ways I see this being high energy is if you are listening to the lowest energy music you can find, or you are wasted out of your fucking minds on Xanax. Look, Real Nega is high energy. Big Bank is high energy. Vengeance is high energy. DNA is high energy. Sicko Mode is high energy. Hell, comparitively, Broccoli and Ispy are high energy. This? This is a lullaby.
@Yoshsterpalooza5 жыл бұрын
Xodiaq666 the way the bass ominously lurks in the background with that strong kick and sheck Wes’s vocals riding that bass is high energy. You can have slow sounding songs be high energy. Especially when the song builds up to the final verse at the end. I mean it’s your opinion, but most people would likely disagree with you. If you don’t agree this is a high energy song, look at what it does to people at concerts and parties. It’s accels as a rap song, it does exactly what it’s meant to do.
@YouCanCallMeXoe5 жыл бұрын
@@Yoshsterpalooza I've given it a few more listens, and watched a few crowd "pits", and... I'm sorry, I still don't agree with it being a high energy song. It's nothing to do with it being slow, trust me. It's more the beat very basic and rather chill. The only thing that hits hard in the song is the kick... but there's also a lot of songs that hit really hard in the kick. Sheck sounds like he's dozing off several times, and even the bass isn't all that powerful. That said, I do feel ya on why people like it. I just feel that the damage to houses and jumping frenzy that but has caused is a bit... much. I feel like it's more a song you listen to to chill, not party.

So stoked when I saw this come up in my notifications. This song is in the new NBA 2k game, and is so bad, I had to specifically turn it off the soundtrack rotation. How do you create a song about a basketball player with a 9 foot wingspan, and not have one line talking about "reach"? Phoned in is an understatement. Thanks for all the dope videos partner.

@QR One Why are you trashing all of his music based on this one song? It also looks like you're using "girls" to emasculate fans since I'm certain most of Sheck's audience, as well as Rap Critic's audience, is male. So not only is this post trashing an artist's entire catalog without hearing it, but it also reads like an r/iamverybadass post waiting to happen.

Rap Critic just focuses on lyrics as if music is only about lyrics. If it was then pop music would not be popular. It is a really dumb way of looking at music. It really doesnt matter what Sheck Wes says in this song, it is the way he says it. Just look at Lloyd Banks and Bobby Schmurda hot nigga, they got the same beat but Bobby killed it while Lloyd made a generic rap song. I feel Sheck Wes deserves props for making Mo Bamba the song it is...1/5 is ridicolous and is only valid if you solely focus on lyrics.

Lmao this song kinda slaps, but his other songs are much better. They aren't amazing, simple lyrics and hard beat, but hey they sound pretty good.
