No it doesn't that's only cuz of the beat. 3rd Graders can freestyle better with *more* lyric variety than this. To freestyle you need to have a vocabulary that's larger than 4 curse words and be able to *ya know..* Write!! Cuz if you can't even do that you're freestyles are gonna be even worse. F*cking anyone could make this we've heard this exact same freestyle & lyrics 10,000 times already and the amount of BS that goes viral is proof. Rex Stevenson it’s not bad. It does what it’s meant to do. High energy music to vibe to. If the lyrics were super introspective it would ruin the atmosphere of the song because it’s not meant to be taken seriously.
@YouCanCallMeXoe
@YouCanCallMeXoe 5 жыл бұрын
@@Yoshsterpalooza It's a one take rap track that hardly even raps. It fails as a rap song. Sheck rides a single progression of notes in his singing, resulting in a droning, overly stretched out repetitive slog, and the beat is limp, and yawn inducing, so it fails as a hype track. Also, I'm sorry... high energy music? Pfft... So... all y'all go to parties where all they play is douchebag acoustic guitar music? Because the only ways I see this being high energy is if you are listening to the lowest energy music you can find, or you are wasted out of your fucking minds on Xanax. Look, Real Nega is high energy. Big Bank is high energy. Vengeance is high energy. DNA is high energy. Sicko Mode is high energy. Hell, comparitively, Broccoli and Ispy are high energy. This? This is a lullaby.
@Yoshsterpalooza
@Yoshsterpalooza 5 жыл бұрын
Xodiaq666 the way the bass ominously lurks in the background with that strong kick and sheck Wes’s vocals riding that bass is high energy. You can have slow sounding songs be high energy. Especially when the song builds up to the final verse at the end. I mean it’s your opinion, but most people would likely disagree with you. If you don’t agree this is a high energy song, look at what it does to people at concerts and parties. It’s accels as a rap song, it does exactly what it’s meant to do.
@YouCanCallMeXoe
@YouCanCallMeXoe 5 жыл бұрын
@@Yoshsterpalooza I've given it a few more listens, and watched a few crowd "pits", and... I'm sorry, I still don't agree with it being a high energy song. It's nothing to do with it being slow, trust me. It's more the beat very basic and rather chill. The only thing that hits hard in the song is the kick... but there's also a lot of songs that hit really hard in the kick. Sheck sounds like he's dozing off several times, and even the bass isn't all that powerful. That said, I do feel ya on why people like it. I just feel that the damage to houses and jumping frenzy that but has caused is a bit... much. I feel like it's more a song you listen to to chill, not party.

When you listen to music like this, you listen to it for the feeling and not for thoughts. We got the Sheck's for the feel and the Kendrick's for the thoughts. I don't think you can hold every song to the same standard and always expect a lyrical attack. Sometimes you gotta appreciate a good and repetitive party anthem

On one hand you would be right, but then can we explain how awesome Ludacris was back when he started, he had lyrical party tracks with amazing similes, wordplay and cadence, even though this is a old comment, even in 2021, we shouldn't have a excuse for laziness in hip hop and whe shouldn't reward rappers for not even doin the bare minimum

Rap Critic just focuses on lyrics as if music is only about lyrics. If it was then pop music would not be popular. It is a really dumb way of looking at music. It really doesnt matter what Sheck Wes says in this song, it is the way he says it. Just look at Lloyd Banks and Bobby Schmurda hot nigga, they got the same beat but Bobby killed it while Lloyd made a generic rap song. I feel Sheck Wes deserves props for making Mo Bamba the song it is...1/5 is ridicolous and is only valid if you solely focus on lyrics.
