I really don't know what the fuck happened to B.o.B. He used to make good music back in his early days where he brought up issues in the black community like gang culture, bad cops, and the over saturated obsession of becoming a rapper/gangster. He even made light of how one day he himself would have to change his style and message in order fit in. Which he eventually did. Then he became mainstream and made those pop songs (a lot of those were fine though), made a couple forgettable rap songs talking about the same shit that everyone else talks about. And now he's.... an illuminati conspiracy theorist. He always talked about how he wouldn't change and thats exactly what he did. fucking ridiculous....

Samuel K. Addai it's only silly because people have had it engrained in them that rappers are supposed to talk about either hard shit or cool shit. I think it's a little corny too but I at least acknowledge that it comes from falling for preconceived notions of what rap is supposed to be. That entire album isn't exactly traditional hiphop, and that line/song wouldn't set off any alarms at all if it was in a pop or country song. Corny for rap, sure, but it's actually a concept that a ton of guys can relate to - the unexpected yet welcome surprise of being willing to do just about anything for a girl..after being immaturely convinced that they were a so-called man by being otherwise.

If this is the worst your rappers have to offer, I have one more reason to envy the non-german rappers. This is almost fucking poetry compared to what german rappers deliver. I mean, for fuck's sake, one of the bigger tracks this year over here was basically called "Cunts in the club". :-|
@SoundsGerman7 жыл бұрын
In Germany it's... hm... a bit hard to describe. There is basically two kinds of rap we have. On the one side is the clean, positive mainstream-radio rap. You know, basically the german version of Will Smith (at least content-wise). It's all clean, kid friendly in presentation etc. And then we have german "gangsta rap". Suffice it to say, most, if not all of those people aren't gangsters. They aren't even big tough guys. They might hit the gym and then built their image up about how they sell TONS of drugs and how they treat all the women like shit yadda yadda yadda... and then they go home to play fucking World of Warcraft (not kidding). Paris Hilton did more time than german gangsta rappers. But they present it sooo serious. As if they're the biggest thinkers and poets Germany ever had to offer and then deliver lines like "And you ask yourself what are snake leather golf sets? Golf sets made of snake leather you cocksucking moron". I honestly wish Germany had some really clever, intelligent rap that doesn't just try to cater for 14 year olds who think they're tough guys because their dad was a jobless alcoholic. It's pretty pitiful.

***** I think he took the whole "sounds sleepy" way out of tone. That whole she's mine part 1 and 2 were made to sound slow. Not upbeat. But eh. Oh well. I don't feel like Cole should have been up there at all. There was much worse.
@Zero-zt8vj7 жыл бұрын
312vandal not saying it was dope. But there was far far worse over 2016, the whole song foldin clothes was some corky lame song. That was the point. I'm not gonna say that line was dope. It was lame. But that was the point of the whole song.

Crazy Luigi yeah i knew the name for the same freaking reason, and i refuse to say that name, where i live we have name laws that is pretty clear dont give your KIDS a name that makes them a target for bullies, once you are an adult feel free to change your name one moronic comedian tried to protest this law...by changing his name and as an adult it was passed since the law is aimed at children not adults, and he somehow found this to be a victory like he beat the system when in truth he had just changed his name and not given a child a name that would make him a target for bullies

I feel like "Folding Clothes" was such a head nod to his life specifically. As in he's a guy in a relationship who doesn't do anything around the house (how many times have we seen this on TV), and the fact that he is folding clothes for her (instead of her folding clothes for him) is a great change. I personally never thought I'd see the day I would be drinking almond milk either, but I tasted it and it's delicious! Also, "Flatline" was the perfect choice for #1, I completely forgot about it! (Or suppressed it from memory)
