There is a group of therapists in CA that have developed and are using a program based upon Linkin Park songs/music, to help depression sufferers convey their feelings both to Dr's and to loved ones. It's incredibly successful. Chester had a rough childhood, and wrote about his mental health struggles amany in myriad songs in the LP pathos. He had immense talent, success and a beautiful family...and never believed he deserved any of it. My heart swells with love for Chester and everyone out there feeling alittle less-than. You are special, beautiful, and people care! Thanks for the reaction, and shining a light!

This song and "proud corazón" from the movie Coco will crush me everytime. LP was my late wife's favourite band and this was her favourite song, and with "proud corazón" Coco such a beautiful movie based around Mexico's day of the dead festival, it was the first movie I ever saw with her after meeting her and just started dating not long after my mom passed, she held me in her arms as I cried thinking of my mom during the movie and said she wanted to honor her and remember her on Día de Muertos on her ofrenda. She broke me then and there, she was so sweet, so loving. She passed away from cancer last year, and wanted to watch Coco together as it was the movie that brought us closer together. We hugged and held each other and kissed. She passed away in my arms that day. I played "proud corazón" and sang it to her in spanish as I played it on guitar when I proposed to her. That song means the world to me. She will always be my "proud corazón" my proud heart translated

Chester Bennington was such an underrated vocalist. His range was huge, he could hit notes as well as any other artist, and could switch between vocals like this to one of the most prolific screamers of our time. Like when you hear him in Given Up, doing a 16 second scream live, and continuing without missing a beat. The man was just pure talent. And on top of that, everyone who knew him says he was one of the coolest, gentle, and caring people you've ever met just makes it even more hard to know that we lost him.

This song was actually a tribute for the lead singer of audioslave, Chris Cornell. They were best friends and when Chris committed suicide it actually was so hard for Chester to accept that he himself couldn’t bear it and committed suicide. I loved this song when it came out. At the time, I felt sympathy for whom the song was originally written about. When Chester passed away, it hit me really hard, as it did everyone else. Every time thereafter, all I could think about was Chester and his mental health struggles, which is something I myself deal with every day. My father passed away too soon in late January of this year after getting sick, and now this song has yet another connection. It is truly a beautiful song, though now it is even harder to listen to. There are a couple songs (other bands) that I almost refuse to listen to because it reminds me of someone else's death, but there is something about Chester's voice and the general beauty of Linkin Park's music that allows me to revisit a song like this. Their music has been a major part of my life since my late teens, and has been there through all my struggles. Linkin Park will forever hold a special place in my heart.
