Probably for many people one of the best songs of all time and my personal favourite Radiohead song. Yeah i think you can't go wrong with these two. Also for a Thom Yorke vocals focus i would recommend "Nude".

The man in the back seat is the Frontman/singer for the band, Thom Yorke. I always thought the story in the vid was supposed to be told from his perspective. Idk🤷‍♂️ I would definitely recommend Lotus Flower next. It’s one of their lesser known ones, but definitely one of their best. The video (that only features Thom) is insanely good.

My interpretation of the lyrics is the narrator unfairly judging people for being uninteresting or irritating. A sudden realisation at the end "phew for a minute there I lost myself," has him realise that he is the one that's the problem.

Thom Yorke does all of the lead vocals and all of the backup vocals on their recordings (guitarist Ed O'Brien sings backup when they perform live). As far as his voice sounding different, I know that Thom purposely sang every track with a different voice for "OK Computer," the album that this song comes from. If you want a song to listen to next, try "Paranoid Android." It's probably their most critically acclaimed song.

They are my favorite performers and I love all genres (not country, sorry peeps) - grew up with 90s hip hop, grunge, classic rock, electronica - and have dozens of 'favorites' and hundreds I enjoy, but no one tops this band, that is just for me. To each their own, right...they have so many less big hit songs that are incredible but for the path you are on I would hit "Creep" to see the mega hit that put them on the map (just a straight up rock song and basic video but epic song) or better yet go to "Paranoid Android" - you will love it I am guessing and be even more into them. However if you are digging the videos, maybe their most famous one and most artistic cool video/song combo is "Just." Appreciate the vids!

@@colemandias3212 Agreed. The music videos are super interesting and art pieces themselves. But for a first listen, I think the visuals can be distracting from the sound of the music. There's a lot of layering and subtle musical elements in their songs... the type of music you should close your eyes to listen to.

In my interpretation the narrator is a "Karen". He is calling on the power of the karma police to punish people he's got a problem with. Notice how he is criminalizing things that are only a personal nuisance for himself, not objectively bad. "Talks in math", "buzzes like a fridge", etc. He is just annoyed at other people. In the second part of the verse, the narrator is irritated because of a girl's hairdo, even though he came uninvited to _her party_ and is now making a fuss of the host. In the end he realizes he was making a fool of himself.

Surprised you started with man of war that was a song that wasn’t released for like 20 years but I think you should listen to street spirit or something from their first two or three albums that the more alt rock stuff the 4th and 5th album are just completely electronic and then their sixth album is like electronic rock and then their seventh albums kinda evens the electronics and the rock out and then their eighth album is kinda weird maybe listen to the other albums before that one and then their ninth and most recent album it’s just STRINGS (Edit): man of war was an unreleased song planned to be on the album that Karma police was on called OK Computer you should listen to No Surprises from that album

OK I tried, you are stepping all over the song. give it at least 30 seconds per comment you are plowing it. People do not like it when you are the subject, they want to hear the song, you are not letting us know or feel what is happening.

You need to stop pausing and talking so much during the song.. Radiohead songs are an experience to sit back and go through.. Let the song play out and then do your commentary... So IMO this is a horrible reaction.
