You also missed the girls from the Royal Family dancing . MAMA comes from Mnet Asian Music Awards . Watch the performance G Dragon had with Missy Elliott of song Niliria. That was at a kcon . BigBang really is amazing live , they sing with a live band and interact with the audience a lot . Another amazing performance at MAMA Awards was in 2014 . If you decide to watch search for the entire performance . 2 BigBang members sung . It starts with vocalist Taeyang, then G Dragon comes on stage and he diss the organisers live , on TV, to their face . One of the most iconic moments in kpop. They end by performing Good Boy together . 😅

you might like Big Bang's older songs better, they started out with a lot more hiphop and RnB. Check out their song V.I.P. Their rapper GDragon writes and produces most of their songs - he was one of the first kpop idols who was very involved in the songmaking process, which paved the way for labels to give their artists more creative control. The company label that manages Big Bang is YG. YG artists are known for their swag and incorporating more elements from hiphop. YG managed another very famous group called Epik High, it consists of 2 rappers and 1 DJ. They do more strictly rap songs. Check out their songs "Happen Ending" or "Rosario" . The DJ makes their beats of course, but one of their rappers Tablo does a lot of the songwriting and producing as well, he has made songs for other artists too.

I've been listening to K-POP and watching their movies, their series, and dramas for more than 11 years, I love all of it. I recommend you watch the movie Parasite which won Oscars in 2020 (I think, I don't remember the year well), it is a mysterious movie with a twist, I really liked it. I even watch their Tv shows and most of them are awesome, just saying. I've known people who are missing all the cool stuff that SK is giving to the world because of the language barrier (as per their closed minded), but most of their programs are translated, and is also an opportunity to learn the Hangul language. Hope you enjoy the movie as I did.

Big Bang are heavily influenced by Hip Hop, since their founder is part of the first gen South Korean Hip Hop group. Their labels YG adopt that attitude, culture and mindset the good and the bad. The scandals you’d expect from a hip hop label though not to the level of gun violences. However check out YG family where GDragon has been rapping at the age of 12(?). I don’t understand why kids nowadays complains about cultural appropriation when your own hip hop artists spread it all over the world in the 80s and 90s and the world had already adopted it for decades.
