Hi everyone. Ok let's go, it's time to talk about the scandal of the organizers who at the last moment, seeing the enormous performance of the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo + ASTIER, changed it from its normal category which was "Time Attack 1" to place it in the freest of prototypes that the A110 is not (I remind you that the A110 here is entirely derived from the commercial sport car A110) ¨Pikes Peak Open". I'll teach you the real reason here on the organizers channel. The cars that usually dominate the "Time Attack" class in victories and the best historic chrono are Porsche 911 Cup or ClubSport 4RW. Porsche, which is one of the main sponsors of this race Pikes Peak, remember that... As soon as the organizers understood that the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo was going to crush all the Porsche in the "Time Attack" and in addition beat the record for this category held by a Porsche, something impossible for them to see due to the importance of Porsche as sponsor for the race, and also because Alpine is French, and for the very WASP organizers of the race (therefore Francophobes by education), it was impossible and a sacrilege to see a Porsche beaten by a French car... To avoid all this, the organizers therefore at the last moment found a false pretext on the aerodynamics of the A110 to make it pass from its normal "Time Attack" class to that which is not normally its class of ultra-powerful quasi-free prototypes and without rules "Pikes Peak Open" which sometimes have 3 times the power of the A110! 2WD, 500hp "only" against Pikes Peak Open class cars which are often 4WD and have up to 3x more power than the A110, the organizers probably thought that there at least the A110 wouldn't exist... But the racing Alpine car have always been for over 60 years, they are very high level chassis, they have a contained mass and therefore a very good weight/power ratio, they are furious and very dynamic "small engines" + here a very high-level driver as Astier. And so, the A110, although much less powerful, nevertheless crushed everyone even in this "Pikes Peak Open" class except a racing Ford Van prototype which had 3 times its power! Congratulations Alpine and Astier, contract fully completed! And thanks to you, justice has won against cheating.

Because in the end what remains in the history book of Pikes Peak are the winners and those who have the records of each class not the 3rd overall... Do you remember the 3rd in the race in the 1980s won by Peugeot Sport and Aari Vatanen at the wheel of the 405 T16 Pikes Peak? And so while the Alpine A110 GT4 EVO PIkes Peak should logically be in this history book as the 2023 winner of the Time Attack class and hold the new all-time record for that class, with this cheat of the last moment the organizers changed the Class A110 this will not be the case! Last "Time Attack" record from 2019 was Raphael ASTIER & a 900HP 4wd Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Turbo with 9min 23sec 921 mili. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHSremWCmrt3eck Porsche sponsor an event where a 500hp Alpine GT4 Evo is 0.641 sec faster for a third of the price of his GT2 RS Clubsport. Obviously, Alpine tried to trick the "Time Attack" category with his big aero.

I was watching along the road from Devils Playground and this was by far the most spirited drive of the day. It was just amazing to see him launch out and slide out of that corner at 7:30. I got some excellent footage of that. Hope to see them back next year!

on peut faire un mix , Peugeot a bien sortie une 308 R HYBRID de 500 CV , redoutable , on utilise seulement la fonction électrique pour passer les virages , à ces moments , la 308 passe en 4 roues motrices , ça permet de relancer plus rapidement la voiture , pour l'électrique , c'est simple à comprendre , sur la ligne de départ , si elle fait 1000 CV , en haut , elle fera toujours 1000 CV , par contre , au départ à plus de 1800 mètres d'altitude , la voiture perd déjà presque 10% de puissance , à l'arrivée , un rappel , on est presque au niveau du mont blanc ( 4300 m contre 4800 m , 500 m de moins seulement , les pilotes ont donc besoin d'oxygène ) , c'est de la très haute montagne , les moteurs perdent beaucoup de puissance , le turbo qui est entrainé par les gaz d'échappements subit lui aussi la perte de puissance du moteur , pour compenser la perte de pression atmosphérique , il faut un turbo ou un compresseur entrainé par un moteur électrique qui lui ne subit pas la baisse de pression ! un moteur atmosphérique perd 1% de puissance par 100 mètres d'altitude , un moteur turbo compressé perdra lui aussi de la puissance , moindre qu'un moteur atmosphérique , mais il faudra faire tourner plus vite le turbo pour compenser la perte de pression barométrique !

On sent vraiment que la voiture s’allège avec l’altitude, densité de l’air moindre, tu fini sur des œufs, il faut trouver le bon compromis entre appui aéro et vitesse de pointe, la différence ce fait à mon avis sur le grippe mécanique, l’ A523 devrait bien s’en sortir 😉 En tout cas belle première pour apprendre, l’année prochaine on gagne 👊🇫🇷

La route qui mène au sommet...c'est pas un billard ! A certains passages, c'est vraiment tape-cul. Tout est affaire de compromis entre les réglages châssis, suspensions, aéro...le choix des gommes. Mais il incombe surtout au pilote de bien analyser le parcours et de choisir les meilleures trajectoires. 😉

La 208 n'a pas du tout un moteur d'origine alors que la A110 oui donc respect et ce n'est pas comparable ou sinon on met le moteur de la GTR dans la A110 et on voit ce que ça donne ...!

ils se sont fait recaler de catégorie, au départ ils ne devaient courir dans la caté "prototype open" mais dans "attack class" dominé par Porshe (qui est le détenteur du record et sponsor de la course), lors des essaies l Alpine à fait 6 sec de mieux que la Porshe du coup je te laisse deviner pourquoi le changement des organisateurs....Tu fous pas une bagnole avec un moteur de 1,8 litres avec des V8 ou des moteurs de +1000 cv qui n ont rien avoir avec un moteur d origine ( d'où la caté "prototype open",ce qui n est pas le cas de l Alpine). En gros: enculés de chez Porshe, les caguettes de la route
