Nice layout, for a minute there I thought I was looking at a Japanese high-speed rail service.

Ah ah good one! You are absolutely right regarding the speed. One of the issues I found is that the on-board car camera being low to the ground makes everything look like it's going faster. Since then I've learned my lesson and slow down the trains when using the car camera.

Wow! This is a great layout. Must be at least a mile long. I didn't notice any repetition in the scenery. Was there?

Yes it's a long layout indeed! The first half of the video feature the mainline, the second half is the branchline. The video is a bit speed up, the mainline takes 15 minutes to loop at normal speed.

Looks like a nice layout. But I kept thinking the train was going to flip over on the curves and crash & burn in this video. Maybe a slower, "let us take it all in" train trip around this empire, video can be done later.

Hi, I fully agree on the speed. This was one of my early videos. The cab ride "first person" perspective makes everything look faster. If you look at cab rides I made later on the same layout, I learned how to slow down (for example kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGiuo5aKpap7osk) but all the early ones from 2015 have that same issue. Thanks for watching!

Thanks, Raphae'l, do I understand right, that the club and layout is no more? John Colley, Sonoma

The layout still exists and is now handled by the Randall Museum. They are currently closed for restoration and will reopen in February 2017.

Thank you for responding, Raphae'l. It has been many, many years since I was there! Probably at least 35, maybe closer to 40! Maybe when they reopen I can do a field trip? See you Saturday? John Colley, Sonoma

Sure, I'm looking forward to when they reopen the whole museum.I will not be able to make it to the ops session at CMRS this Saturday, I have other obligations. Enjoy your time running there!

great layout, but was afraid the train was getting ready to go off the rails

Ah ah, the video may have been indeed been speed up a tad too much :-) Thanks for watching!

The engineer was on a booty call or it was a runaway train. Good layout but the speed made it feel like a roller coaster ride more than a train ride.

Ah ah, you are definitely right. The video may have been indeed have been speed up a tad too much. I have learned on how to film at slower speeds later, so you can catch the same cab ride at a more leisure pace in other videos on my channel. Thanks for watching!

Ah ah, your're right! If you want a faster run, try this older version of the same video I made: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4qsaZyQq9yVqtE ... and if that's still not fast enough, try kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZXOZYeaidx_fbs for a good measure ;-)

Very great layout. But..... Slow the train down and maybe do this in 2 parts. Also, edit out the inside of the tunnels and all of the bench work scenes. We've just seen to much of these. Just slow things down. I'm sure that no one will operate the trains at this speed. It must be around 90 mph in scale terms. Just to fast. If the layout is to long do it in 2 sections and get rid of all of the junk. Put some wire on the poles. It looks like you are all finished with the scenery and have little need to reach over the layout. Wires will make the layout look so much more finished.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope to get a chance to do another cab ride video of this club layout some day, and indeed this time I will slow it down.
