I ❤ rapid fire roundups. From everybody on the team. Especially since they often include games that have been out for awhile and kids games. Great addition to the channel 👍

Thank you so much for covering Battle Card - it was a real pleasure to work with David and Nils on the game, and I agree that its amazing how evocative each scenario can be with so little components and rules. There should be 2 more maps in Season 1 to come (If you buy the Season 1, you get all maps released for it). Thanks again Chris!

Great round up, Chris! Thanks for the kind words for Fugitive--we're really proud of the way the 2nd ed. turned out.

😊A Chris-Mike Duo (in-person or not) review-skits can be a new series 🤣

I like that Chris's Rapid Fire Roundup includes games he actually likes. I appreciate having that mixture.

After loving My City and My Island we took My CIty Roll and Build with us on a recent vacation. It was the perfect game to play in a hotel room to wind down at the end of a long day. Not something I'd ever consider get a regular group together for like other campaign/legacy games, but certainly a right game at the right time and we really liked it.

Thank you sooo much on the my city take! I thought i was going nuts. It's one of the only 1/2/3 out of 10s i have played. Awful at one player too

Thank you for these multiple short reviews! I love your intro skits, especially with Mike. This one made me really laugh.

I'm only halfway through this roundup, and it's totally legit how you're finding the one thing that buys/sells me on a game. "This is Rondo, but fixed." "Dice don't make this better"

I love Battle Card as well. Actually, there aren't many decisions, and almost all of them are obvious. BUT it has atmosphere, great rules with little twists. I love it.

Is there any chance you guys at the Dice Tower could tell us the player count on the games you review. It would help

Yeah, it took me way too long to realize that Battle Card was a solo game, as Chris never explicitly mentioned it.

The reason you didn't like Kiwi Chow Down is the reason I love it - it is a serious area control game with a funny and, to me, great theme. The game is very strategic and the board state changes a lot, but with a fun and goofy theme. I like games like Blood Rage and Kemet but the themes are very boring and non-factors to me. Kiwi Chow Down pleasantly surprised me because it wasn't a ridiculous game like Dodos Riding Dinos (which I do really enjoy), but instead a competitive and strategic game with art, a theme, and gameplay I like.

I actually love My City Roll and Build. Totally agreed the dice are horrifically bad, but the game itself is a nice light little game, especially solo. I would highly recommend it especially for the price (I got for 12 bucks or so).

It’s unfortunate to hear the components in My City Roll and Build are lacking. I’ve found it to be a lot of fun on BoardGameArena and have thought of picking it up since it has an even lower price point than My City and is more replayable. Hopefully they’ll put out another edition with better dice or something.

I really like the concept of Sunrise Lane but prefer the style of Rondo in the sense that Sunrise Lane introduces cards next to the houses while Rondo does it with just type of item; the chips. The change is required to accomodate for keeping track or your houses for the end game bonuses. But it feels a little too 'meh' with the houses stacking somewhat poorly and discerning red and pink for the spots on the board can be hard in bright light from an angle. I think it would deserve a 3d-printing where you can have two types of printed pieces to serve both roles, so discs with colors matching the card functionality in Sunrise Lane, but then also other printed pieces that go on top, to denote that that particular stack is yours. Maybe I'm overthinking/overdesigning it, but that's kind of a habit you automatically develop upon owning a 3d printer for a while.
