Jason... Thanks for your instructive presentation. Well addressed as well as fully detailed. I was worried about the "48 volts" wiring to the RS unit, but looks like pretty straight forward process. This will substitute other Tigo components that are used when non Schneider RS is used. Thanks again for your support!!!

great video. I am a DIYer home owner, and am up grading my system I built 20 years ago (SW40234) with new panels, charge controllers (MPPT 150) and a XW Pro and other goodies. My question is why the 32 amp limitation? Is that due to a design of the RS or is that in the NEC 2017? I have 2 arrays, each 1600 watts. If I retro fit the RS, then I would need to run another #6 feedline from combiner box (the Midnite solar 6 breaker) near the array down to the new RS box, instead of the single wire? Is that correct? thanks again

norsk-dougbert the 32 amp limitation is due to the switch that was used, during sizing it was determined that the 32 amps would meet the design criteria for dual mppt 80 controllers as well as a full mppt 60 by paralleling the input as your illustrating. Yes you would need to run another positive and negative and utilize the other channel in the Disconnect rs. Hope that helps

@@JasonAndrade427 thanks for the reply. Yeah, it helps me to choose not to install the RS, and stick with my existing wiring. All the wiring and conduit, disconnects are all remaining the same, just replacing array 1 (20 years old) with new 310w panels, and then onto new salvaged Tesla Model 3 batteries (with Jack Rickard's battery controller that uses the Tesla BMS), followed by the XW Pro. Good video again

Does anyone know if the TIGO RSS transmitter will work if used on a system with the Schneider 600/80? I would much rather spend 50 bucks on a transmitter instead of 800.
