Yeah. As a guy who considers himself a lifelong "rocker dude", there are a few bands that I always liked that my friends always gave me crap for. This is one of them. Duran Duran is another. George Michael is another. Screw them. I like what I like my dudes.

Music taste is subjective, which is why that it is important to remain true to yourself. How boring would it be if everyone liked the same music? You will find that a group of ‘friends’ who dislike particular singers/bands, because they think they will be ridiculed to admit their taste goes against the majority. There is only one person in charge of your music preferences - you! Be original and honest to yourself and others, don’t be a sheep, the three artists you refer too are three of my all time favourites. I have seen them all live, I have every record they have released on vinyl, cassette and cd. I have found negativity from some people at differing times but f*ck them, the hours and hours these artists have brought to my life the pleasure is immeasurable. 😊

I went to the same school as Curt Smith back in the day. He lived 6 doors up from me. I didn’t hang around with him as he was in the year above. When they formed a band called Graduate I used to go and see them perform in local churches and a place called the Pavilion in Bath, Somerset (our home time). Then one day they became Tears For Fears and the rest as they say is history. For me they were the sound of my youth and the 80s. Such great songs and great memories.

SONGS FROM THE BIG CHAIR was a huge album for this band in the 80's with "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" being their big hit, but the entire album was incredible - "Shout", "Head Over Heels", "Mother's Talk" and the "Working Hour" are just incredible songs. Curt Smith (bass/lead singer) & Roland Orzabal (guitar/lead singer) are the two behind this band and wrote incredible songs. They internally imploded in the late 80's/early 90's and Curt left the band. Roland went on with the name of the band and wrote some incredible songs - "Elemental", "Raul & The Kings of Spain", "Break it Down Again". But Curt rejoined and all is right again.

As a mom with two sons on the autism spectrum I'm sitting here in tears after hearing you say the Amish don't have autism. Not because you're wrong you're 100% right but because I'm excited to hear this outside of my circles. When my oldest son was born in 1985 autism was one in 10,000. When my second son on the spectrum was born in 2004 it was 1 in 54 or something around there. Now it is 1 in 23 they only start counting when the kids are 8 years old so the numbers a lot higher

Whaaaaat WHAT!!!!! Certain songs, certain songs will take me right back to the particular time in life. This specific time was a very nostalgic period of my life. I had a major crush on this particular girl, and every single song from this period will remind me of her. You see, she was absolutely beautiful. This was elementary school and that 2-3 year period will forever cement her in my memory at that age, at that point in my life. I look back on those days with such happiness. The only thing is, this girl never knew, or never will know the crush I had on her. You see, I was way too shy to ever mention such things. She was gorgeous and popular. I was shy, but was more of a class clown. She knew me, we shared smiles, laughs at my jokes but she never knew. The crazy thing is how dear I hold her in my memory and how happy these songs make me feel as I’m instantly taken back to the easier times in life, but she will never know. To have such feelings of a person who never knew, will never know and will always make me feel at peace and 10-11 years old at the instant sound of a song. Maybe I was a crush like that for another person in my timeline, maybe not. And maybe that’s what makes the feeling so pure, so happy, so nostalgic.
