I don't know if it has been said before, but Obie Trice is from Detriot. He, along with many others, battled at the hip-hop shop. I believe Obie is underrated and, unfortunately, got brought onto the label around the same time 50 and got outshined by 50. 50 brought on to Em's label and just blew up more so than he did when he was with Columbia Records and just blew up and just made a bigger impact than Obie. Obie's albums, IMO, are classics. Cheers, second rounds, and last call(I think that is what it was called. Unfortunately, Obie was shot in the head and lived around the same time Proof was killed but was dropped from the label. Obie has a lot of great songs. Obie, like others in the game, started to slang before he made it. What I find funny is that this song was for the movie called cradle to the grave staring DMX and Jet Lei. Also, I believe it was when "X going to give it to Ya" was released?

I’ve been doing my regular channel surfing watching reactions to certain songs… to see (obviously) how everyone reacted with each track. I watched at least 4 ch’s prior to Crypt’s reaction, & his is so different. In an awesome way of course. People were actually saying Obie’s verse wasn’t very good at all! And saying Em shouldn’t have let Obie go after him because it ruined the Ah’ factor if you will. 🤔 They stated it was weak. However, when Crypt explains Obie’s lyrics, along with his awesome excited/ appreciation for this track, I heard this track on one helluva different level! 💯 If you know what I am saying, then you do. Enjoy your reactions dude but considering your profession and talent as an artist its confusing that you believe ems new material has filler words to make rhymes flow and fit..? This is just not true, he even states this fact in his new tune with snoop but has also said in interviews and other songs..everything he includes in his bars has purposeful meaning either by homophone, entendre, cultural reference connections, internal schemes, idiom etc.. he watches reactor breakdowns on KZbin like yours to see how many ppl get them.. he's literally writing to test his audiences intelligence, knowledge and bar catching skills, which keeps people so intrigued and fascinated in his lyrically genius.. Knox hill does the most detailed and insightful breakdowns imo, hardly missing any but acknowledging there are clearly no fillers and can't believe how someone can do what em does so consistently and perfectly in virtually every tune, he's his own biggest critic which he's admitted countless times making him a perfectionist to avoid others criticism of his work. Its just that most ppl, myself included, just don't/cant get the bars fully that's all which is kind of the point and why bar breakdown channels are so important, enjoyed and respected. Mean no offence dude, just really wanted to clear up a common misconception that's all. Peace.
