i feel that detroit/ machine gun line is a triple. you said 2 meanings. it could be a reference to the motor city machine guns which was a pretty well known wrestling tag team whos member were from detroit. knowing eminem refers to wrestling a lot i could see anderson paak throwing in a wrestling reference as an em feature.

Just a question man. Do you study the lyrics before making these reactions, or do you catch everything right away? I’ve been listening to rap for almost 20 years, and sometimes it takes years for me to catch a line, especially Eminem. Personally I like the hook of Leaving Heaven more, this one is more technical with cadence and ad-libs aiding it, but leaving heaven has a super heavy boom-bap beat with risers that build up to skylar grey singing a super powerful hook, plus em usually builds up to those hooks a little more than on here.

Lol) I drive 30-45+ mins to and from work every day and I bump this song on repeat.
