Who is Tyler addressing? Or is Blurryface in control?

To me, Fairly Local is a declaration about Tyler saying he knows how many of his fans feel who are dealing with depression and anxiety, because he's been there himself. He knows the struggle, where one day he feels like he just keeps repeating the "same dance," but then changes it to fight through it and say he will "avoid yesterday's dance." Then add how cool this song is musically, and it's amazing!

When they recorded Blurry Face, the clique was small. That album blew up. Have you mentioned, Blurry Face is the only album where every single track is certified gold or better?

We, the Skeletøn clique or clique for short, r the Few, the Prøud, & the Emøtional. Tyler posted on his ig about what that means (too long). Blurryface is his insecurities, so that’s him telling Tyler this song will never be on the radio etc. Fairly Local is tyler telling us that he knows what we go through. He actually talks directly to us in the majority of their songs. Anyway, holler at me later! 😂😂 I’m from Texas so I can’t talk too much 😂

FPE, baby! That's us, the Few, the Proud, and the Emotional. This song is for the fans. Tyler demonstrates how he can relate to us by showing his struggles with blurryface. Or in other words, since we're a'hollerin', he's from round these here parts. Awesome song! This 'Bama girl says keep the sign off 😉 |-/ 💛

Fairly local is simply a way of saying ‘I know what you’re going through’ - it’s to his fans going through similar things

I love this song as its generally agreed that the song is tyler singing to us about how he knows what where going through as he argues with blurryface about him self with blurryface trying to put him down into depression and tyler fighting back Also if you ever get the chance to got to a TØP concert i recommend it as the last one i went to had us randomly as a collective start clapping and Mexican waving while we waiting just because we where exited and tyler even meached it after his first handfull of song and had us do another one which just made the entire thing into even more of a community activity

This is the song that got me hooked on them. Clever lyrics and interesting music, throw in the EDM bit at the end and I’m sold!

this is actually my favorite song of theirs i think the overall theme of the song is that Tyler is saying he understands how other people feel when they deal with mental health issues - he's familiar with how that feels (he's been down that road before) i think with the radio part - he's saying he knows this song won't be on the radio because it deals with real issues and isn't a watered down radio track (only his fans will understand the song) - they did release this as the first single for blurryface, but i think also intentionally held it out from being played on the radio (i've heard) the verses i see as a battle between tyler and blurryface - the verses are opposite - one is tyler, one is blurryface - then blurryface will also pop in and out throughout the song in the video, i think the drums leaving are helping tyler through music - similar to heavydirtysoul where as he beats the drums the car falls apart so tyler can eventually escape - in this video as the drums fly away or he hits the drums you can sort of see tyler shake like it's affecting him also, when they did this live for the bandito tour, the teleportation was pretty cool

To me, this song has always been about the common human condition, where man is at war with himself in his own mind. Everyone feels evil, but is trying to be better. It is what everyone has in common. Same time saint and sinner. That is why I think it is called Fairly Local.

I loved this song the first time I heard it because it's simplistic but it hits HARD! I see the interpretation as you guys were discussing that it's a polar opposite of what he struggles with in regard to mental health, speaking to his fans that they aren't alone in feeling that way. Great Reaction! 👊💜 Congrats on hitting 1K Subscribers btw! 👏🎉

but the chorus is directed to the fans... he says he's not new to the cold dark thoughts.... and that is where blurryface comes into play

Oh man, I love this song! Josh said he was coughing up fake snow days after the shoot lol The way I see it, the chorus is Tyler affirming that he can relate to his fans going through struggles because he has too. The first verse is what he believed about himself when he's in his insecurities. The verse 2a is him saying that's not really true, he has hope. 2b is Blurryface trying to pull him back under. Live, they do a teleporting Tyler trick, where there's a double wearing the ski mask on stage singing on a riser. Right before the last chorus, he falls backwards off the riser through a trapdoor or something. Then Tyler appears in the crowd somewhere.
