What you said about Bruno being blamed for natural events and him being a false prophet. He's not so much a false prophet, 'cause his prophesies are legit (that's literally his gift). It's just a case of: "Don't shoot the messenger."

I have a feeling a lot of the stuff the villagers blamed him for was him striking conversation. Like “hey your fish are gonna die” cause maybe she was shaking the bowl a lot. Cause he mentions later he didn’t prophesize the weather, he just thought Pepa looked nervous (cause she controls the weather)
@who_needs_stairs Жыл бұрын
He's actually a real prophet(that's his gift) but he actually says that he said this because the woman wih the fish didn't took care of it properly, the fat man ate a lot, and etc, even in pepa's wedding he says that he just saw how nervous she was and that it wasn't any prophesies(bc to make a prophesie he was to make a whole ritual-)

About Pepa saying "He flood my brain": She has the power to control the weather, but that power is heavily influenced by her emotions, so when Bruno prophesized rain, he flood her brain with the thought of rain, which caused it to actually rain (bc that's her powet). About Dolores's whispering: She probably whispers because her power is an extremely good sense of hearing.
@sarahsatyr71337 ай бұрын
But later he admits that he knew she was stressed and nervous and was trying to hold it back. He basically threw himself under the bus and gave her a reason to "let it go" and allow herself to feel she's allowed to show all of that and then the weather just followed. I love that he did that for her then allowed himself to take the blame.

I’m hoping someone else mentioned it as well, but Bruno’s name was originally going to be Oscar, but Lin asked for it to be changed to flow better and that’s why we have “Bruno-no-no-no-no” and why his name is Bruno in final production. People talk about Dolores whispering because of her super hearing but I’m more interested in how fast she sings. She delivered lines twice the speed of any other verse, now my theory is that she talks so fast because the conversation and rumors, etc can slip by immediately so she needs to talk fast to keep up with things, and it probably helps her not get lost in others conversations when she talks fast. Or maybe she’s just a natural fast talker. Now this is a bad analogy of mine, but I myself am surrounded my sounds and can barely focus on what inn writing, so I’ll need opinions to get my brain working instead of being clouded by the sounds around me

10:43 - This song is used in the film as a kind of play on words. The name of the family concerned in the plot is 'Madrigal'. The term 'madrigal' is an older English term for a type of song - multiple melodies are introduced, one at a time. Then they are all sung at the same time. It's a creative type of songwriting technique which was popular in England in the 16th and 17th centuries. (Late 1500s to the early 1600s).

I always loved how he flips the “he told me” verses toward the end “he told me that the life of my dreams” are all ascending, highlighting the positive prophecy, contrasted with the “he told me that the man of my dreams” is flipped upside down, descending in pitch to highlight the sorrow. Subtle, simple, nice touch

Did no one notice Isabela sings “I’m not fine” at the end of the song (at the end of her verses when they all sing)? It’s so creative cause the other singers hide it, and especially with Isabella’s proposal coming up I think she was starting to freak out and of course her song being next where we learn the truth

7:17 I haven't really listened to this song before now, but why do they dislike him for what he says coming true? His gift is to know the future so shouldn't they know that?

His gift is to see a possible outcome of the future,and everyone usually assumed that when he had a vision about someone,their fates were sealed and there was no changing that. They also think he makes the future.

What I like about (most of) Disney songs is that, they aren't just "simple" songs, the characters are singing those songs and thus showing who they are and how their stories progres through the songs themselves. This movie has that on every. single. song. _Dos oruguitas_ is one of the most emotional songs of the movie but it is near the end and if you didn't watch the movie yet go, watch it, cry a bit, and come back later xD (it's in spanish, although there's an english version from the same artist)

There is a video that shows how the creators of "Encanto" got their animation to fit beautifully with their song, They used real actors to dance and sing to the dance they had plotted them to do and the animators copied that and drew the dancing and mouth movements onto the computer to make sure they got the right movements to make it seem real. 🙂

If you listen closely at the end of the song you can hear Dolores singing “I’m fine I’m fine I’m fine” and “I’ll be Fine” which was a small call back to Angelica and Satisfied from Hamilton. The man Dolores is in love with is in love with Isabella. Similarly how in Hamilton, Alexander loved Eliza and Angelica loved Alexander too. The attention to detail! The connections! Lin Manuel definitely did amazing with the songs for Encanto. Definitely my new favorite Disney soundtrack.

I’d just liked to point out that the audience can hear certain sound effects, for example, 11:11 you can hear the glass connect together. I think they did this as a way of letting the audience know what Dolores can and can’t hear.

The video "How 'we don't talk about Bruno' works and why it's amazing" goes into how the song is not only musically great, but is perfectly integrated with the movie's symbolism, themes, and storytelling as a whole. The Madrigals are singing a madrigal about the missing part of the Madrigals.

Bruno has the power to predict the future and the red haired lady has the power to control the weather… unless she gets really upset and then the weather can get… a tad rough. The girl from the next segment has a powerful sense of hearing, then the boy who was the son of the first two can shapeshifter. All the people in her family have a magical gift except for the main character and the grandmother.
@natalienguyen92782 жыл бұрын
Fun Fact : Every Madrigal has powers except for Abuela and Mirabel. The thunder from the first scene is Pepa’s power (the woman who is in yellow). Her powers/magic as an example is alone controlling the weather around her. Bruno, her own brother however, has the power/magic of prophecy, hence why they’re telling Mirabel to NOT talk about him (even though they are…?).
