Being able to show feelings is human, but society made us this way. Feelings shown by men in particular is thought of as a weakness and we have been taught to not show feelings and toughen up. I cried like a little baby when i heard this first time. It resonates with me.

Now take these lyrics and compare them to earlier APC (Judith) or earlier Tool (all of Undertow or Aenima) and see how angry MJK used to be and how he's evolved into what he is today. This, more than anything else, keeps me coming back to his music. The journey he went on and the way he's matured over the 30 years of listening to his stuff is remarkable.
@jsmirnoff776 ай бұрын
Precisely. I am not the same person I was 30 years ago. I am just... not. So to all those who expect him to keep putting AEnima out over and over again, well... it can't be done. Thankfully. And having had dinner with the guy and working with his brands over the last 8 years, he is certainly evolving. As am I, thankfully. Tool fans are insufferable. Sorry, but for the majority of them, it stands.

Pavlov did this experiment with dogs where he would put some food down, hit a tuning fork (essentially ringing a bell), and then the dogs would realize there was food and they would salivate because they were anticipating food. He kept doing that over an extended period and after a while he could just hit the tuning fork and the dogs would salivate at the sound even if there was no food present. It's called classical or Pavlovian conditioning and it's a pretty major topic in psychology.
