Younger generations live their lives in bubbles. They have only watched their favorite movies since VHS became a thing and they have only listened to their parents music and the music they were introduced to in their teens since the MP3/streaming killed radio. We have no one to blame but ourselves when all our movies are about Super Heroes and Fairy Tale Princesses and every new song sounds like mediocre "club music". They have been trapped in a bubble of adolescence. We need to encourage them to break that bubble, not gate keep the exit.

The whole point about opera singing, is that it pre-dates any form of vocal enhancement such as microphones. The style enables a naked human voice to fill a large room with beautiful sound. It sounds kinda weird on recordings, but live! It is amazing live! The sound just goes straight through you vibrating every cell in your body. Think really really loud heavy metal only with much more melody. Pavarotti didn't need those two microphones - he could have gotten the same result with just his naked voice performing in a theatre. For a trained operatic singer, they only need mikes in the open air or when the crowd is very very large.

If he fails, he will be beheaded. That triumphant end is "I will win" after answering the first 2 very difficult riddles correctly. This is a short piece of the story but intense like a movie cliff hanger. 🌹❤️🔥🌹 Dimash did admire Paverotti's vocal skill but I suspect not his Diva personality. In the old days, those pathetic diva type antics were encouraged, much like Western rock stars bad behavior has been over the past 50 years. As an Italian born and raised in Italy, this was a very nice and genuine reaction. 👏🏻 I think for most of us Luciano Pavarotti will always be the GOAT. I remember growing up listening to him because my father was a huge opera fan, which is why I am an opera fan today. As you said, Dimash does his own thing, he is absolutely unique… but he’s not specifically an opera singer, although he can sing opera. Pavarotti unfortunately is no longer with us, but it’s impossible to forget him. And reaction videos like these definitively help spreading the knowledge about opera music! If you’re curious, you can easily find on YT an old video (I think it was 1990) of Luciano Pavarotti singing “E lucevan le stelle” from “Tosca” at Rome Opera House. It’s subbed in English. And - as usual - he was so good he was asked a BIS, i.e. to sing it again. He did. And he killed it both times. The reaction of the audience was… yeah, you should listen to it! 🤩 PS.: When in doubt, in those cases when you’re wondering if someone or something is either Italian or Sicilian… well, Sicily IS in Italy. It’s just one of the 20 Italian regions. 😉

She has passed an edict that he will be put to death if by morning he could tell her name. He turns the tables and she must guess his. He wants to marry her and her father gives his blessing but she is still cold to him. In the middle of the night he goes to the garden and sings this to her that he will come away from this victorious. The choir in the background is singing their fears because whoever loses they are sure they will be killed right alongside them.

At one point the one gentleman there was talking about the look on Pavarotti's face almost looks like he was saying I can't believe I hit that. He WAS a TRUE humble man. He wouldn't believe he had actually sang as good as he did until the end and the audience would let him know how good he was. That's why the look on his face when the audience reacts is it first surprise and then gratitude FOR the LOVE an appreciation that the audience was giving him. AND YES especially on this one the audience gave him a "" (. 20. )""minute standing ovation after this. There are several other white and black opera singers that were really great BUT Pavarotti was the master of the HIGH ~~ C. Range. If you truly never listen to Opera before I am so glad that you got to hear Pavarotti first !!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤ He did a lot of free concerts for people and there are some on videos you have got to see. In the free concerts he sang with James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, and many more. When he sang with these """ ROCK """" singers he could blend and add to it. Luciano, pronounced Loochiano. The lyrics are beautiful. It's from the opera by Puccini called Turandot. It's a love song of sorts.

Theres something truly special about certain performances, you don't even really need the words. Without words, you can tell from the music and his voice that the beginning of the song starts hopeful and evolves into the middle section that feels like acceptance and then finishes off with the ending that makes you feel like you can truly thrive and win! It's wild too because you can see the pain he was in while singing during this performance.

One of my top 10 life moments…seeing my hubby at the end of the aisle during our wedding, seeing the Vatican, Grand Canyon…. Was hearing Pavarotti sing in Biloxi, MS years ago. That first note was amazing!

Long time viewer, first time commenting. Natural progression after this would be Time to Say Goodbye; Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman.

Actually..Pav did sing in Atlanta! Right at the beginning of his career he appeared with Joan Sutherland, nicknamed La Stupenda, due to her fantastic voice. The Met Opera used to do tours and they performed La Fille du Regiment. On KZbin you'll find Ah mes Amis from the Atlanta performance. Worth listening to as it earned him the moniker "King of the High C's! He sings nine of them in the one aria, with a bundle of them like fireworks at the end. Later his concert in NY Central Park drew a crowd of over 300,000 according to the police. Yeah ..he was big!! So glad you guys took a look!! .

What are the English lyrics for ‘Nessun Dorma’? None shall sleep, None shall sleep! Even you, oh Princess, In your cold room, Watch the stars, That tremble with love And with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, My name no one shall know, No... no... On your mouth, I will tell it, When the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine! (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.) Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

I wasn't a fan of opera. I hated it. I was hip hip and metal my whole life. Then I heard Nessum Dorma and that changed. There are others but this is the only opera song I can name that I like and it's also the reason why I can't claim to hate opera. I love opera when it's done right. This is done right. This song performed by the greatest opera singer of my lifetime is just.... There are no words. No superlatives can cover the feels.

One of the great three tenors of our time, along with...well, here...I copied and pasted it for you: "The Three Tenors were an operatic singing trio, active during the 1990s and early 2000s, and termed as a supergroup consisting of Italian Luciano Pavarotti and Spaniards Plácido Domingo and José Carreras." I have been known to get sucked into an opera or two on PBS....and I enjoyed them....they can be humorous, dramatic, sincere....even involving the supernatural... I'm grateful to have an appreciation for a wide variety of music!

Ever have music give you goosebumps? Sat through this and it forced tears out - think it's something with the frequency combinations vs vowel placement. I didn't feel an emotion necessarily, but there was pressure slightly above, behind and to the outside of my eyes, and I actually felt the fluid move through the ducts and out, like the pitch hit it and unlocked some stored up trauma that needed to be released. I mean water does store memory so crying carries it out of you.
