Sound City was a studio that literally EVERY artist recorded in from Fleetwood Mac to Rick Springfield. Dave did a lot of work to make the actual soundboard that had basically been put away and forgotten about able to record on and use and asked everyone that had recorded there in the last 50yrs to be interviewed or make music using this specific soundboard for this documentary. Honestly the coolest thing ever! Reiterated for the gazillionth time how much Dave LOVES music and wants to share his love of it to the world! I own the DVD just in case I need a bad ass reminder of just how amazing the story of the Sound City studio is.

The guitarist that's killing it is Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick. He's in his 70's here. He also has a four head guitar he played in concerts. Very underrated for how good he is on the guitar.

The Sound City documentary might still be free here on KZbin. It is a great watch for some of the other original songs, and for the ridiculous history of the place. Name a classic rock album made from 1975 to 1993, and there's a decent chance it was made there.

One of my favorites. Have to add…it was mean but my brother loved to post Merle Hagger’s very depressing song If We Make It Through December on my Facebook around the holidays and that song invokes really bad memories from my worst couple of Christmas in my childhood. My brother thought it was humorous. Not getting it. He was very religious so this song was my gift to his Facebook. He finally stopped torturing me with that December song. I so love CT. I might have thrown in some SlipKnot a few times too. It was war.

Another great track from this soundtrack is Mantra, featuring Grohl, Josh Homme from QOTSA and Trent Reznor from NIN. Just make sure you check out the complete track, not just the scene from the movie itself - both are available on YT, but one has lyrics and guitar overdubs, and the other doesn't.
Absolutely LOVE this song, thanks for reacting to it. The impact of this song for me is a culmination of the story behind the Sound City doco. Brilliant guys 👏👍

Rick Neilson from Cheap Trick on guitar as well...and that's an E-Bow he is using...uses vibration to give the guitar infinite sustain...this doc and album is incredible...Tom Petty playing bass with Johnny Cash...Dave Grohl pretty much invited everyone in history who has recorded music on the classic sound board he bought from Sound City Studio to come play...you should do a movie reaction to the documentary 🤘

Hey guys...I hope y'all are doing well. I know I say this every time...but I really enjoy your reactions. The trivia before each video is fun. You ask for recommendations and suggestions so I am bringing you one. Please please please react to this young man. He is the best guitarist in the world. You will be so blown away. I promise you that you will love him and want to do everything he has out. So far I have gotten around 15 reactors doing his stuff right now. Every single one has had to pick their jaws up off the floor. No joke! His name Marcin Patrzalek and he plays every genre of music there is. From Metallica to Led Zeppelin to Bach and to Dr. Dre. So there's something out there for everyone. He writes all his own music and you will understand why he does this when you hear him play. No one else in the world can do what he does. His fingers and hands literally blur from the speed he plays. He is 23 now..his birthday was the 6th. If I could join your patreon I definitely would but unfortunately I can't. I barely have enough to eat. Long story short...got hurt at work, lost job, and have a terminal illness with no health insurance. So, times are not good for me. I only have 8 months left to live. So with that being said I hope you understand why I can't join your patreon. I gave to beg for food from churches. Something I am ashamed of. I just want y'all to hear this guy play because I feel his music deserves to be heard by everyone out there. The talent he has is so amazing. He listens to a song then comes up with his own arrangement of it. If you could start out with Moonlight Sonata that would be great. It's not one that is too overwhelming to start with. A good intro song. He is 19 in the video. So amazing and definitely not from Earth. I can't wait to see your faces when you hear him play. Oh...you.have to watch him as well. He is awesome to watch. Thank you for your time. Peace dudes!! Much love from Texas! MARCIN playing MOONLIGHT SONATA on one acoustic guitar kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJi0aKBmmJmFm6ssi=Dyq-rwJHrHvMol0w
