Lol, Jimin is one of the best known artists in the world, and he was going for a retro vibe. He debuted with BTS in 2013 as a dancer/singer. He has a live version on Jimmy Fallon. K-pop btw, is an industry with many different genres. Jimin's own solo works are all quite different from each other because he experiments. All but 1 BTS members are currently in the Korean Army and will reconvene in 2025.

Jimin is one of the 7 members of BTS. he is a lead vocalist and main dancer in the group. "Who" is the titletrack of his second solo album "Muse" that he prepared last year actually, before joining the military in december of 2023. all able bodied korean men have to serve for 18 to 21 months in the military. as of right now, 6/7 members are in the military, with the eldest member Jin that came home this june. BTS will reunite in 2025 as a full group. Jimin stated that it is a 2000s type of song so you're not wrong about it. this is a bop destined for performances. you don't have to love every song from them, army (BTS' fandom) just dont want people to hate on the members for no reason or disrespect them, we actually like honest reactors. since you are rappers you might be interested in the rap line of BTS: RM, Suga (aka Agust D for most of his solo work) and J-Hope. they are amazing rappers and they are the main songwriters of the group. as a group they have a lot of hip-hop/r&b songs as well, as they started as an idol hip-hop group. of course, we armys encourage you to discover more of the vocal line as well, maybe you'll be surprised (Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook). im also more into rap and before being a bts fan i mainly liked rappers and i got into their music because i liked the rap line, but now i enjoy all of their songs. since you seem interested in the lyrics, im sure you'll like BTS' korean lyrics, as they are mainly written by the members and tackle all sorts of subjects. ask armys for suggestions!! they have songs for everyone!! but thats if you're willing to take the extra step to maybe get some more context (their music can get very deep and tricky for non-korean speakers but there are many resources that can help you). also, please dont treat them as a typical kpop act, BTS is different. go down the rabbit hole and you'll see why! there is a reason why they started off with nothing and became the biggest band in the world (spoiler alert: its their amazing music and sincerity in everything they do). check out the live performance on Jimmy Fallon for "Who" as well!! its awesome!!

Thanks. Yes Jimin said he was going for 2000s vibe with musical like choreography. It’s very different to his debut solo album FACE. He sang it in full English lyrics because he said the theme is relatable to everyone. He has very varied solo works. Ppl here have already recommended them. He is right now in mandatory military service with his other band members. Only the oldest have completed and got discharged in June. He hasn’t promoted this title track nor the new album Muse but breaking all kinds of records:) Who has been on top of Spotify Global chart for 17 days and on top 3 US. You can watch Guide to BTS by Taylor Mari but it’s only until May 2022. She is updating since lots have happened since then.

You know you CAN just say “this person’s” name! JIMIN!!! We get that you’re coming in blind, reactors often do; but KZbin tells you 2 things from the jump: the name of the song and the name of the artist. Call the presses!! the first gp who didn’t like WHO! By the way, he belongs to BTS, a boy band that has long since transcended KPop. He is one of the most (if not THE most) versatile dancers in the world - able to dance virtually every genre there is…with great skill and he has 8 years in martial arts training, including having a black belt in Taekwondo; he is also well known for his uniquely beautiful vocal tone. It’s funny you point out effects in his voice when autotune is the standard in rap, lol. That sound he had - comes directly from the late 90s. It wasn’t an homage - he is inspired, as is every artist on the planet, by legends of the past- like MJ (who he’s often compared to). As for JT, Jimin is 10x more talented than him but you have to spend some time researching him to even scratch the surface of this man’s multi-talents…he’s an allrounder. He has been given the title of King of Kpop for years in Korea (and globally), they call him the Korean MJ and the Korean Chris Brown. He’s no joke!

Don't worry if you don't like the song. Army (BTS fandom) usually love honest and respectful reactors. Who is part of their solo projects. Each member worked on individual projects before their military enlistment. This is to ensure there's continuous release of contents throughout their absence also to showcased individual sound. Yes, they love to spoil their fans. I don't think there's other kpop group where all the members went to the military at the same time but still continue to release contents this intense. We got new release every couple of weeks, sometime days apart. Currently there's a 6 episodes of Jimin's and Jungkook's travelog at Disney+ where they travel to NY, Jeju island in S. Korea and Sapporo in Japan. In mid September, we'll get Jungkook's documentary on his 150 days journey for his solo album, Golden which is an all English album. The rest haven't been announced yet. We know the eldest member, Jin who had completed his military service will release his solo album sometime in winter. If you like rap, try mic drop, on kinetic manifesto or something from the rap line like ugh! or ddaeng.

No they haven't disbanded or split they are doing their military service all 7 have their own solo songs in and outside of BTS albums and their individual solo albums. Jimin the contemporary Dancer, and did Hip Hop dance battles from the age of 14. He's also a multi genre martial arts expert. Song writer, composer, producer but then all 7 members are Song writers, composer, producers and musicians some in with multiple musical instruments all to differing degree's. The are currently doing their military service. Jin's back already and was the torch bearer at the Olympic's in Paris, J Hope Rapper is back in October then the remaining 5 members all return for their reunion in June 2025.

I wonder if the guy on the left would change his tune if he knew this was largely produced by Jon Bellion and other western producers - the only song on Jimin’s album not mostly written/produced by Jimin and his team. 😂 “We in America have moved on from that” - except I’ve got news for you, bud….apparently not. 😂 Y2K is the latest trend in music, and a lot of current popular artists are doing it. BTS is still together, and all members are still a part of the group. Jimin and five other members are currently doing their mandatory military service. The seventh member finished his in June. One member will get out in October and five will get out next June. This song and the album it’s a part of, plus all videos and performances of it, were recorded prior to when Jimin entered the military - so prior to last December (2023). Since you’re rappers, I recommend full BTS songs, especially early era, and solo projects by members RM, SUGA (aka AgustD), and j-hope.

Though not credited for song “Who” from his MUSE album, even on Jimin’s previous FACE album, though Jimin wasn’t credited producing, aside from Jimin composing most melodies, & pretty much writing all the lyrics, he indeed was involved, participating, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production documentary. Jimin is always hands on, coming up with the concept of the song, what he wanted the lyrics to be about & mean. At the studio alongside of other producers, overseeing, giving input on every level. The concept, storyline & look & feel of MV was also Jimin’s vision, his idea. Jimin even was the one who did the choreography! The look of the MV, the concept, overseeing the filming & directing as well! Also the staging & placement of the dancing in the MV, as well as the filming Jimin also oversaw! The quality of the filming, and especially the way Jimin looks, the way he walks, but most of all, his on another level, breathtakingly spectacular vocals, stratospheric high notes, Jimin’s equally breathtaking, absolutely spectacular, also on another level, dancing, as well as the stunning choreography, which Jimin created, along with the amazing backup dancers, makes this all the more enjoyable, to watch! Absolutely everything on another level. Jimin rushed to Hungary only for an ever so short couple of days to film this MV there, then even ending up having to film as soon as he got off the 13 hr flight on the plane, because of suspected storm next say! Jimin cramming in as much as he could just a month or so before leaving to the military. Jimin so impressively & amazingly crammed so much in, trying to get as much content out, all before he left for the military the end of last yr! Writing lyrics, composing melodies, producing many songs, but if not credited always still participating, also coming up with concepts ideas, for look of MV’s as well as overseeing the filming & directing as well! Jimin even created the choreography for his song “Who”. Jimin also involved in design of album covers, and choosing concept & look during photoshoots! To work on creating all this music, all this content non stop for almost a couple yrs is beyond mind boggling to think about! Thank you for your reaction to Jimin. I liked the opinions of the guy in red. Your insights were spot on. The guy in grey, though, totally missed the mark. This song went number one on four Billboard charts, globally. It also shattered the record to 1B views in the shortest amount to time. If you check out BTS, I recommend their Engish songs, first. They are just feel good songs designed to he upbeat, during the pandemic, to get people's spirits up. However, their Korean language music has deeper lyrics and deeper messages. I also see you are hip hop. If you were previously bored by some Korean artists, you will have your socks knocked off by XG's, "Woke Up. " listen to this song. It's their first all rap song and it has caused some reactors to say these girls rap better than most American rappers! I will subscribe on your next Jimim, BTS or XG video and I expect you'll get many ARMY and ALPHAZ to sub as well.

Thanks for the reaction! If you want to know how Jimin's voice without autotune is, watch him when performed live for Jimmy Fallow Show. The autotune, in his case, is just an effect, it's not necessary to "correct" his voice. Don't expect typical structure from any one of the seven members of BTS. That's why we love all of them! No boring songs at all! I'm a 67yo proud Army (BTS fandom). Any information about Jimin or other BTS's member you want, count on us to tell you!! BTS is active still now, they didn't disband, just had to enlist in the Korean Army. One of them, Jin, returned to us and he's preparing his album. All of them worked as solo after the communication that he needed to enlist. First, we thought we would have a long period without enjoying them... wrong! They prepared a lot of work before enlisting. This song, i.e., was released while Jimin is serving. I can say that we 've never had so much material to react like the last almost two years! :-) In Korea, group members can release solo material, and there is no problem with that, they keep belonging to the group.

Jimin is just 1/7 of BTS. Each member brings a different flavor, vibe and color to BTS. They debuted in 2013 so their discography is massive. Lots of different songs to choose from plus remember, they have group projects, solo projects, unit projects, collaborations and more. Their music, artistry, songs are just ONE of the many layers that is BTS. This comment is an understatement btw. Each member is different so their musical taste will be different in terms of their solo/individual projects. Hence their intentions & thought process on their individual projects will be different. Jimin was going for a 2000s vibe here. What kind of mood are you in? What kind of musical genres? ARMY can definitely give you a few recommendations. BTS experiment with lots of different sounds as Artists. Get to know their history and you'll understand their growth as Artists. 💜🎶

jimin has a very unique voice very high, airy and raspy at the same time, if you listen to his song set me free pt 2, witch is totally diffrent from this. he raps a bit too and there is autotune on that part. i think producers love to work with his voice in that area. not that he can´t sing you will hear him sing live later on but many producers don´t even know what type of song fits his voice. he is still developing his own style. for me this was his best song yet maybe because i grew up with justin timberlake lol. this song reminds me of all those songs. jimins last song was like crazy witch reminded me of the weeked song (just the same genre like blinding lights) his voice also reminds me alot of mj and the weeknd. maybe if you react to tiny desk with bts you can hear every voices more clearly and also be able to tell them apart in the future.

This is not an homage to anyone is just a song having a retro vibe! What is this obsession with Americans commenting all the musicians in the world copying , sampling or paying homage to American music! Like music didn't exist before Americans invented it! American music also immitated, sampled or payed homage to artists coming before them from other parts of the world! The fact you never mentioned it shows you don't have a deep knowledge in the art of music! A good example of a song I would call kindly an homage is Kendrick's 'Like that"who sampled Rodney-O & Joe Cooley's "Everlasting Bass" (1988) who in their turn sampled Barry White's "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby (1973) !!! I never heard anyone mentioning the later which was the original song! Again please kids do your homework on music terminology and music in general ! As for not liking the song it's ok not all of us can have the same taste in music but we should never forget to be respectful to the artists and their hard work from where ever they come from !! Jimin's song "Who" is just amazing because it hits you on such a deep level. His voice carries so much emotion that you can really feel what he's going through. The lyrics are all about searching for yourself and questioning who you are, which is something everyone can relate to at some point. Plus, the melody is so beautiful and haunting-it just sticks with you long after you’ve listened. It's one of those songs that makes you stop and really think, and that’s what makes it so special.

Thanks for your honest reaction. I do think that if you had done some research on Jimin’s achievements as a solo musician, you would have respected him more. “Not much in demand”? As musicians trying to make it, do you not think the following show how well Jimin’s music is received? : No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for “Like Crazy,” a song for which he also has song writing credits. Six ITunes all kills, meaning he has six songs which reached No.1 in all 119 ITune markets; RIAA gold records for five solo songs, platinum attained for Who and Like Crazy. He’s 29, been in the military since December so he’s not currently promoting. Do you honestly believe you’re going to match his achievements? Not many musicians will.
