Yeah, Sasuke awakened the Sharingan the night of the massacre, but he didn't notice. His was high on adrenaline, and besides that when Obito awakened them he didn't realize his eyes were different until Kakashi mentioned it, so there's an established precedent for an Uchiha not knowing the difference between their normal sight and the Sharingan enhanced vision when it first awakens.

Not sure if that was a super subtle clue of what happened all along, or they just incorporated what was just an early design of Itachi into this flashback after the fact

Yeah thats either a retcon or a mistake my the animation studio. Sasuke 100% awakened the Sharingon during the battle with Haku. He was so shocked he didn't even know what was happening. "Wait I can see him. I can see. I CAN SEE!"

I think the implication for that scene, is that he awakened it only temporarily. As it immediately vanished. Suggesting he probably immediately lost access to it right after, and probably was unaware of it happening in the first place.

Sasuke actually awakened the sharingan when itachi killed the clan. As he states in Boruto, the first tomoe, and the 2nd and 3rd are achieved by tragedy, or great stress. That night he awakened the first tomoe. During Haku, he awakened the second. SMH yall.

Nah Sasuke's Amaterasu is his own. If you think about the abilities of his other eye, the Kagutsuchi that specifically controls the black flames, it makes sense he'd have Amaterasu in the opposite eye. As to the reason why he would have the same ability as Itachi, it can be alluded to them being siblings.

I don’t know if you already knew, but Hebi was the former name of Sasuke’s group, and Hebi means snake. Before the Sasuke/Itachi fight Madara says “I wonder if you’ll emerge as a hawk or a snake, Sasuke”. The new name of the group is Taka which means hawk. And it’s kind of symbolic of Orochimaru not being within Sasuke anymore too.

I understand that you might conflicted about the demise of the Uchiha but please don't forget that the were determined to kill the village leadership and that would include our favorite ninja. When a power faction takes over any potential threat would need to be eliminated to stabilize the village, that would include any junior ninja from the old leaf would need to be killed too. lastly we need to remember that the leaf knew about the takeover attempted so it would have been all out war. Hitachi did not want war at any cost. He may have figured, Sure the current system isn't perfect but at least it's better that what the village would be like it the new leaders went back to the old system of death and domination!
