Eminem didn't stand up to Suge. In fact I don't think they personally ever met. One time I do recall Em talking about was not long after having signed with Dre he had a run in with some of Suge's goons outside an event related to Suges beef with Dre leaving Death Row, he openly admits to nigh on sh!tting himself and thinking he was about to get capped. Afterwards Dre basically told him he was now affiliated with Dre and Aftermath and so that meant taking on his beef with Suge. After that incident he always used security. 50 cent however, he was a true street gangster and was game, running around the streets knocking people the f**k out left right and centre. He did step up to Suge refusing to be intimated. He wasn't about to let his street credit slip lol

It’s not simply just suge, although his size did in fact present an intimidation factor that was scary, to many, but it was mainly the many hardcore gangsters around him that would do anything for him, that made him scary. He was the money, and he put a lot of it in many hardcore gangsters’ pockets. That’s why he had so much power. His only downfall was playing into it, instead of being a real boss, and having his people handle visible things without him, while he sat back and watched. Only get your hands dirty behind closed doors, and without societal view. He failed at that, so he lost everything.

I have watched a few of these documentaries and they talk about Suge had a bunch of bloods Piru backing him or he had 30 Mexican gangmembers backing him. I have seen one where an LAPD detective that investigated Suge talked about how ruthless Suge was and why he was feared. But what they don't talk about and one of the big reasons Suge was feared is because he had multiple LAPD officer on his payroll. He had LAPD officers as bodyguards. Rafael Perez was on his payroll. Another LAPD officer got into a shoot out with what turned out to be an undercover police officer. That LAPD officer was driving an SUV registered to Suge Knight. This caused a major backlash against the LAPD when the LA Weekly did a story on it and LAPD had to investigate it.

Gang culture in Compton/LA is VERY different. When it infused the rap industry, Suge just took it to another level. On one aspect, he was punking Jerry Heller from taking all the $$ from NWA. On another hand, he managed his label the same way. Reason why Dre and Snoop left. And even that was risky. Snoop relocated to Louisiana and signed with Master P and layed low for a while. He dropped an album, got his paper up and then moved back to LA/Chino Hills. 50 was from the east coast, was already in the drug game and wasn’t afraid to die. That’s really the only difference. Game recognized game.

They all picked on me because I was a hillbilly and my family was poor. I went to Texas for a summer and helped my uncle build fences all the way around his ranch it took all summer long. I hit my growth spurt and I grew a foot and put on about 65 pounds. I came back for my freshman year of school and everyone thought I was a new kid.
