Yeah they're not the cheapest ones for sure, but like you said, I think they look like they came from the factory. Thanks for watching!

If you remove the nut inside the fuse box, then you can route cables for the bottom. Is more elegant and you don't need to make holes

Does the negative need to be wired to the battery directly? I installed the fog lights as per your last video (thank the heavens for you btw). Most people I've seen just run negative wires to a ground.
@installsandpitfalls Жыл бұрын
I don't know if it's necessary, but since it was right there it was just as easy to use the terminal on the battery. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Installed these on my '19 Rav last week and the install was extremely painless. Although I am wondering, would I be able to tap into either the parking lights or fog lights so they're not always on? Or into another fuse location so I can turn them on or off?
@installsandpitfalls8 ай бұрын
You can tap them into your fog lights if you want

What did you use to notch the fuse box? And the spade connected to battery wouldn’t drain the battery will it?
@installsandpitfalls Жыл бұрын
I just used a x-acto knife. And the spade connector is on a keyed fuse, so it's only activated when you turn the key. Thank you for watching, feel free to ask any questions 👌🏻

Can anyone help? I would consider getting the positive power directly from the positive lead to the fog light. My thinking is that I’d want them on when the fog lights are on. Do you think that would work? Thank you in advance.

You should be able to tap into the fog light wire with no problem
@installsandpitfalls Жыл бұрын
Just make sure you tap into the fog bulb power wire, not the DRL if you want them turn on only when you hit the fog switch 👌🏻

Do these help you see the road significantly better at night or fog, or are they more cosmetic in nature?
@installsandpitfalls2 жыл бұрын
They don't cast light very far because they're not a focused beam, but they are visible from quite a long distance as supplemental lighting. Plus they look cool 😂

Question for you, I just got these and I put them in today but I ran into an issue on my 2021 RAV4 hybrid LE. It seems like my USB1 and USB2 ports are dummies. Factor 4’s install suggests using “INJ” as a backup which is a 10A port. Am I just supposed to take the 10 amp fuse out put it in the wiring harness and put it in that part labeled “INJ”? Or what I need to find a fuse port with a 7.5 amp fuse in it and use that one instead? I’m not that smart when it comes to fuses, thank you
@installsandpitfalls2 жыл бұрын
Keep the 7.5 in the top slot and the 10 from the INJ in the bottom 👍🏻

@@installsandpitfalls Once installed, are they always on? Do they turn on when the headlights are on or separately? Do they turn on with the DRLs or the main headlight or both? Do they come with a remote control? Sorry for so many questions. It’s that I’m really interested in these lights but wanna make an informed decision before buying. Not long ago, they were $120. Now they are $130… Thanks for the reply. :)

The way I hooked them up, they're on anytime the key is on. You can do a wire tap into your fog lights or headlights. I haven't looked into the DRL install. Feel free to ask any questions you can think of. And I agree, this inflation is terrible.

When connecting the black negative ground wire, did you have a spare spade of your own you were able to attach to the open exposed end of the black wire? My kit seems to stop there. Figure I should check out a hardware store for a spade, crimper, electrical tape and additional supplies for that step? What do you recommend? (First time doing anything like this with wiring) Appreciate your time bro
@installsandpitfalls2 жыл бұрын
Actually my kit had the spade on the black wire that was next to the fuse tap
@installsandpitfalls2 жыл бұрын
But I'd suggest buying a kit with spades and different electrical connectors if you're going to be venturing out into different DIY projects. Once you get the hang of it, your confidence will let you try just about anything
@benpfister2102 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback! Ended up getting a crimper, and a ring spade for the ground wire and finished the project earlier today! Aside from the usb1 and usb2 fuse slots not working for the plug and play fuse, I ended up finding a forum online suggesting the INJ fuse spot with did end up working for the raptor lights I bought for my 19 rav4 LE. These DIYs do feel good to knock out

I just wired them for ignition on, so they're on anytime the engine is running. But you could probably tap them into your headlight harness or run a separate switch for them like a fog light switch.

@@installsandpitfalls I followed the pdf instructions from the link above and figured it out. I stuck the wiring differently as one has to put the plastic planel back on so one has to avoid wires in the wrong places. Not finalized as the lid doesnt close and will cut the wire, so have to find another way of feeding the wire to the fuse box.
