@@evanharris3802 do let me know your thoughts on the R. Like I said before, I always owned loaded F150's but once I experienced the TRX I really noticed how inferior the Fords interior was, so much hard plastic. I love the real boot style leather of my Rex. I didn't realize that most trucks "leather" is auto leather or something like that and the Ram actually has genuine cow hide. Makes a difference.
@evanharris38022 жыл бұрын
@@PatriotJK1776 the T Rex is Superior to the eco-boost raptors. Will have to see about the R and will compare when mine comes in. Not convinced I’ll take it. I think the two trucks are comparable. the price Delta is likely not worth it.

That guy you had with you was the only one I ever heard complain about the breaks
@internetbrandsautogroup3826 Жыл бұрын
To each their own, I suppose, but the overall point was that this might be a super truck in most regards, but unfortunately, in our opinion, these super trucks and SUVs don't have the best brakes given their power and weight. Especially when compared to Ford's performance cars. This seems to be a limitation of the wheel sizes used for off-roading focus. Jason Camissa managed to overheat the brakes when he was reviewing the Bronco Raptor, which is a pretty similar setup to here. Regardless, not a deal killer, just something worth noting given how quick it is (and heavy). CHeers!

I know you all mentioned first and last of its kind. But Ford Authority leaked a 24 with a mid cycle refresh. That being said, imagine paying a crazy markup for a vehicle that is going to be produced with interior and exterior upgrades next year. I don’t know. 😬

It's really tough to predict both what Ford will be doing in terms of products AND market values, hahaha. Some days it feels like V8s will be canceled any minute now (like Dodge), and on others, it seems like we may get another decade or so. It's also hard to say what the values of these will be long term; generally, though, I don't think paying ADMs is a smart move unless you're prepared to kiss that $$$ goodbye. Thanks for watching!

Not sure what the hell Ford did to get it to 10 MPG on the highway... probably some emissions bullshit, there's no way it can naturally be that bad. My 5.5 twin turbo 2014 E63 AMGs making 600 HP in a 5000 pound car with a 7 speed gets 26-7 on the highway just driving the road not beating on it. Yeah a truck is taller, with more wind resistance, but Jesus not 18 MPG worth. I'd love to see what a tuner could get out of it to make it more real world compatible. I also have a 2015 Jaguar XF with an 8 speed supercharged 5 liter making 500 HP that also gets 28 on the highway and 22 as my daily beater (also a 5000 pound car)... something isn't right with the tuning to make that lousy a fuel mileage. Again, I'm sure it's got something to do with meeting some bullshit emissions standard but still.
@PatriotJK17762 жыл бұрын
I think it probably has something to do with their decision to use 4.10 geared rear end. That tall gearing keeps the RPM's higher even with 10 speed transmission at highway speeds. Probably revving pretty high at say 75 or 80 mph. That is just my theory at the moment.
@kleetus922 жыл бұрын
@@PatriotJK1776 yeah that's definitely a possibility... they did that with the lightning (the original one) if I remember right and it also seemed to be rather gearbound... but with the 10 speed you'd think it would just make it use a couple of the lower gears a bit more often if you were really going for high torque at lower speed. That driveshaft is probably spinning at the speed of light to go 75 on the highway, probably doesn't do much for efficiency! lol
@internetbrandsautogroup38262 жыл бұрын
i've gotten worse in various Mustangs, tbh (although with less overall hwy driving). I think it's generally a combination of a racecar engine + weight + 37" tires + terrible aerodynamics. but I'm not an engineer so that's just a guess.
@kleetus922 жыл бұрын
@@internetbrandsautogroup3826 Maybe... but I have to laugh when I get 5-6 better than that in a loaded 3/4 ton 16 year old diesel at 80mph which isn't exactly an arrow either.

TRX has multiple drive modes, great suspension, nicer interior, Hemi 6.2, sounds better and is $10k less. Also no more Hemis after ‘23.

The TRX is basically a Ram 1500 with a Hemi added and basic off road supervision. Not even close to the Fox Baja suspension Setup the F150 Ford Raptor R has. Watching several dig drag races against a TRX. The Raptor even without launch control and it's larger 37" bead locked tires. The Raptor wins by a truck length or more. I own a Hemi Mopar but give me the Raptor R hands-down.
