Rare and Special Nature Of Water | ഈ വിചിത്ര സ്വഭാവം വെള്ളത്തിനു മാത്രം സ്വന്തം.

We all have seen many times that when a bottle of water is placed inside the freezer of the fridge to cool, the bottle breaks when the water turns into ice. Therefore, we do not feel any abnormality in it. But how many people know that it is only water's speciality? When any other liquid that does not contain much water cools and solidifies, the glass bottle in which it is contained will not break.
Similarly, we know that ice floats on water. But that, too is only a feature of water. The solid form of other substances does not float in its own liquid form.
Although this characteristic unique to water, causes us many difficulties, this one phenomenon is perhaps the reason why life exists on Earth.
ഒരു കുപ്പി വെള്ളം തണുപ്പിക്കാനായി ഫ്രിഡ്ജിന്റെ ഫ്രീസറിനകത്തു വെച്ചാൽ, വെള്ളം ഐസ് ആയി കഴിയുമ്പോൾ കുപ്പി പൊട്ടി പോകുന്നത് നമ്മൾ എല്ലാവരും പലപ്പോഴും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ നമുക്കതിൽ ഒരു അസ്വാഭാവികതയും തോന്നാറില്ല. എന്നാൽ അത് വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മാത്രം പ്രിത്യേകതയാണെന്നു എത്ര പേർക്ക് അറിയാം? വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ അംശം തീരെ ഇല്ലാത്ത മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും ഒരു ദ്രവകം തണുത്തു കട്ടയാകുമ്പോ, അത് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ചില്ലു കുപ്പി പൊട്ടി പോകില്ല.
അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ഐസ് വെള്ളത്തിൽ പൊങ്ങി കിടക്കും എന്ന് നമുക്കറിയാം. എന്നാൽ അതും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മാത്രം പ്രിത്യേകതയാണ്. മറ്റു വസ്തുക്കളുടെ ഘര രൂപം, അതിന്റെ തന്നെ ദ്രവക രൂപത്തിൽ പൊങ്ങി കിടക്കില്ല.
വെള്ളത്തിന് മാത്രം സ്വന്തമായ ഈ സവിശേഷത കാരണം നമുക്ക് പല ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകളും ഉണ്ടാകാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, ഈ ഒരു പ്രതിഭാസമാണ് ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ജീവൻ നിലനിൽക്കാൻ തന്നെ കാരണം.

Excellent introductory video on the subject. However, the explanation part is lacking: 1. Note that the biggest increase in volume comes from its phase change and not from its temp change ( when 0 degree water loses latent heat of fusion and becomes zero degree ice ). And once ice, it will decrease in volume when temp is further reduced. 2. Many/most liquids are polar in nature, including oil ( otherwise you won't be able to heat them up in a microwave )

Its all about Energy!.. That is "Kinetic energy" which is the basis of "temperature" and that is the degree of hotness.. Hydrogen bond works predominantly at low temperature.. Since energy is transferable, kinetic energy is transferable from Environment and atmosphere.. "Normal temperature" is that temperature predominantly seen and experienced in earth atmosphere and environment.. From where does this molecular vibrations get that transfered energy?? Basically From the environment and molecular collisions..From where does they get it? Of course from light and heat and that from the sun, source of energy in earth
