Kazakhstan is a big country, it's not surprising that what's traditional for some people is unknown to others.
@nurzhan326920 күн бұрын
@@tildessmoo Nah, that's not how it works with nomadic countries. In sedentary yeah, distances matter, but nomad used to travel from place to place and share culture. That's why in huge area there's no dialectical difference in speech, whereas in UK, Spain, or Italy, travel for 100 miles and people might speak differently. So despite the huge distances cultural variations are not that big. The reason why we do not know is that over time people forgot the traditions and being in USSR doesn't help either, so now revival and rebirth of tradtions is happening
@tildessmoo19 күн бұрын
@@nurzhan3269 The effect of that huge area isn't as pronounced in nomadic cultures, but it's still there. I wouldn't expect Kazakhstan to have as many or as distinct regional differences as, say, the UK, but it's so huge that there's still variation, and more than a smaller country with a similar nomadic history like Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan.

that lamb brisket really looks like an alien caught somewhere in the mountains😄. But I am sure my Kazakh brothers and sisters make it yammy.

We had a great City Market that had ethnic food stalls where you could buy many different things, here in the Midwest. It had that wonderful exotic scent of spices, deli meats, fresh bread, and fruits. Today, they evolved it into a food court that has some variety, but not that much. The vendors are continually going in and out of business due to how hard it is to keep going right now.
