Definitely cherry. I have sawn some of it but I rarely get a real good one. If they are over 12'' here they may have rot or shake. Hard to dry flat if there is any sapwood on the boards. Very pretty wood. Thanks for the video. I enjoy your sawing! Dont let the circle mill get rusty!

The colour says cherry but here in Ontario, Canada the bark is coarser and rather flaky. I still vote for cherry. I am surprised you don't have a debarker on your machine. i find it indespensable on my WM [26yrs old] as there is often dirt on logs I get. Great job!

Wild or black cherry. The bark looks like corn flakes is the identifier. We have them everywhere in east central Ohio.

I’m about saw up some Northeastern Black Cherry that was given to me. Making stair treads out of it for the barn I built. It’ll end up inch & one half by 5 & 3/4 after jointer & planer. Why not?

Wild cherry, it is somewhat common here in West Central Louisiana, but none that big, it is an under story tree and 6-8- maybe 10 inches is common just the same as sassafras and maple the pines and water oak out grow them all and over shroud them or choke them out.

Nice sawing 👍 I love cherry, one of my favorites. We have a lot of it in northeastern Pennsylvania. It isn't unusual to saw 30-36" logs. The largest I remember sawing is 44". Your right it has a unique smell, makes a great smoking wood, especially for poultry. Good video 😊

My understanding is - that cherry has within the wood silica - which dulls blades when working cherry - be that a planer or sawing. Cherry gets darker as it ages.
